The modern story of the Count of Monte Cristo
0 of 1 Yahoo! Users found this review helpfulPros: Good story
Cons: A somewhat abrubt ending
The movie directed by Frank Darabont shows the story of a banker - Andy (Tim Robbins)- that is sentenced in prison for life for a crime he did not commit. He is to do his time in the prison of Shawshank, led by a corrupt warden and guard captain. Mozarts Requiem D moll, KV 626
0 of 1 Yahoo! Users found this review helpfulPros: Excellent choir music adapted for orchestra
Cons: no cons found
It was Mozart's brilliant way to "retire" and go in the place with no mistakes. Although he died while writing the Offertorium, he left sketches for the rest of the Requiem so Sussmayr could finish it in Mozart's spirit and infinite talent.
He hadn't written the Requiem - in spite of a very popular myth - for his own death, but for the Count's Walsegg's late wife, so it was a comissioned work, just like many others.
It has the music of true forgiveness and empowerment, the product of a fragile body and a mind dealing with the struggle to survive. ...
