Good Reaction
Thank God for this wave of Bring it Back to HIP HOP! Erick Sermon is right behind Missy Elliot. I love this album. I can honestly say that you won't get to listen to any crap on this album. The skits are hilarious and entrapping and the music is on point. Erick has the skills to actually save hip hop from what it has been subjected to. He has his dance tracks which a part of Hip Hop no doubt but it's those other songs on the album that make you reminsce and say, Man I remember when it was like this. You could follow a story and still get with the vibe of the song. For real this is a really good album. Listen to it. Sermon has used the same formula and it worked yet once again. Get it, I bet you'll REACT just as I did. ... -

TLC is 3 dimensional times 10
I don't usually give out the best rating to an album but 3D is one of the few exceptions. It's a blend of the first two albums. With its bouncin tracks that make you want to dance and those that make you listen. "Hands up" picks up where the sultry "Creep" left off. Loving it! "Girl Talk" reminds me of the popular "Aint Too Proud to Beg". I love how TLC sticks to their formula, Funk, Soul and that Hip Hop Dash. They are truly the BEST. "Hey Hey Hey" is a great track as well as "Dirty Dirty" (my favorite) and that song with the neptunes is off the chain. "Turntable" (The Left Eye tribute) is a beautiful song. Mad Love goes out to the two remaining members for putting the final touches on this album for Lisa. Every track she's on is HOT. And the ones she's not you can imagine her influence on it anyway. Great Album. Get 2 copies. RIP to the wonder Left Eye and Congrats to T-Boz and Chilli. Make it 3x Platinum! ... -

kelly rowland can get it
1 of 2 Yahoo! Users found this review helpful Let me say I didn't know what to expect when I surveying the album Simply Deep. With the singles Dilemna and Stole being so different, I was shocked to see the direction that the album took. I am so glad that Kelly chose to work with up and coming producers/writers instead of mainstream to make MIllions! That's where you'll find your real artists, the ones that rely on talent and not just gimmick. She's got real talent and the album dips and dabs into several music areas. Simply Deep with Solange is out of this world. Obsession is off the meter. Those two (Kelly and Solange) have great working chemistry. Stole is a great track sometimes I find myself getting real emotional on that song because of how powerful Kelly sings it. The album is different from what anyone would expect from the Destiny's Child member but still a good listen. Rowland is another one not afraid to try something different and it worked. Congrats. Cop the album, it's Simply Deep. ... -

this girl's got it
Heather Headley's This is who I am is all that and then some. When was the last time you heard someone compared like that? A long time right?? Well that's because strong voices like her come every so often. I am so happy that I was around for the opportunity to just hear her voice. This is your female Teddy Pendergrass if you will. She tells you what she wants you to hear. No beating around the bush. Tell it like it is. He is let you know she loves her man, Full time lets you know that she isn't going into love half heartedly, and I Wish I Wasn't makes you want to cry when you hear how powerfully she sings her pain. She got a lot of talent. Not afraid to showcase her voice instead of her body. She's got the skill. I hope people are ready to embrace her music as well as her. I don't know what it is but people are starting to take it back to when music was something you could listen to. Well thank Goodness! Can you artificial superficial materialistic caught up in the mix people handle Ms. Heather Headley? I hope you can, she is real! Good luck to her. The album is a real enjoyment. ... -

Love Story , with a happy ending
1 of 1 Yahoo! Users found this review helpful Have you ever picked up a book started to read it and just could not put it down? Listening to Vivian Green is just that. Her songs dab into several areas and you get a taste of different genre's out there that many artists fail to get into. Green is also a good writer. Emotional Rollercoster and No more sitting by the Phone keep your ears open and your ears shut. She makes you want to listen to what she is going through. Her voice is just as powerful. I can honestly say (and this is meant in a good way) that when Jill Scott decided to take a back seat, Vivian Green came along and took the wheel down the same path. Although they sound nothing alike nor do they look alike but there similarity goes much deeper than that. Like Scott, Green pulls you into her music. Her stories, the depth. It's outstanding. Singing about ordinary things and having the powerful voice to take the listener to the next level. With this album you get variety, a beautiful voice and lots of soul. Congrats to Green on a well delivered album. Get it if you like the way real music is making a come back. ... -

stripped and baring all
For what it's worth Christina has a wonderful voice. It's powerful you just want to shut up and listen. Stipped is a good album as far as her vocal skills are concerned. Also her writing is a pleasure to read/hear, the girl has grown up. However, even though her music has grown tastefully including the party jam Dirrrty feat. Redman, Christina may gone a little too far with the I'm grown up bit. Songs like Loving me for me, Impossible, and Keep on Singing my song, show us a Christina that people can appreciate and adore. But the image portrayed seems like a complete contradiction. But this review isn't about Christina herself it's about her music. She has this latin number on there which will blow your mind. When I say she's got skillz, I mean just that. If Christina would stop the I'm not another Brittany charade and just ben the sweet, powerful songstress that we know she is then she would have it all. I wish her luck on her future projects and will always support. Get the album it's really good. Christina may have stripped her clothes off but her voices covers all. ... -

India is the BOMB
1 of 1 Yahoo! Users found this review helpful This girl can do it all. She has talent that will keep her around for a long time. My favorite track is GET IT TOGETHER. Oh how she hit home there. India has the skills to take an ordinary situation that just about anybody and relate to and flip into something so extraordinare, so soulful that it's almost impossible to put into words. She's got a beautiful gift. Such a shame some people can't understand or appreciate her style. She's wonderful. Her voice is strong, her words are compassionate, and her beats are intriguing. India is on a voyage her self, I just hope to be around to see her enjoy it and share it. Other great tracks include the hit Little Things, the heartfilling Goodman and that badass ballad Complicated Melody. You did again Ms.India Arie Simpson. A smash recording. ... -

amazement
Still Ghetto has me amazed. From what I've heard, Still Ghetto is a really good album. Jaheim is so laid back. His voice is smooth. I could just listen to him croon over tracks for days. Although people compare him to Teddy Pendergrass (and with good reason), Jaheim is still unique. Maybe it's his experiences that give him that heart in his voice but whatever it is you know it's him. And that he's not some cheap knock off of yesteryear. Laid Back. This album is just that. I love it. Fabulous, Beauty and Thug, Backtight and Long as I live are some really hot tracks. The male version of Aalyiah's style "Street but Sweet" remember when she said that? Jahiem maybe a little rough around the edges but his voice pulls you into a serene place. The whole album is up to par and he's just being Jah. Give him love, he's gonna be around for a while. ... -

Amerie's All I Have
I must say the only reason that I wanted this album was because it was so cheap and the summer anthem "Why Don't We fall in Love". I didn't think it would be worth listening to for long because of all the wack R&B that is oh so "popular" these dayz. Thank goodness Amerie's album is not one of the wack ones. It's real good. It flows nicely. Her beats differ with almost every song. You can just put the album on and play from track 1 to track 12. Her outro is too cute. I appreciate her efforts on this debut. I just hope that her sophmore effort is even more of a success and has some music on there that I can groove to for just a little bit longer.
"Nothing Like Loving You" is absolutely the most beautiful track on the album. "Show Me" is very soothing and "Float" really displays Amerie's talent (her range is out there). You'll love this album if you are sick of the garbage that is on the radio every five minutes. R&b certainly is not what it used to be but Amerie's album pulls you back to the beginning of the good old R&b days. Get this album if you miss good R&B.
"Talking To Me" is a hot track and "I Just Died" is the killa song. Congrats Amerie!
OH yeah, for those who don't know... the track "Why Don't We Fall In Love" was originally supposed to be just an Intro. But we the public made it a hit so they released it as it was for a single.
Peace ...
isyss, love to hear it
1 of 1 Yahoo! Users found this review helpful These girls are talented, they sing, they write and they even contributed to the producing on the album. I constantly playing the tracks, "That's The Way We Do" Parts 1 & 2. Even though I am not in a relationship like that I just love how they have everyone's point of view. Not every one has the perfect relationship but if it works for one particular couple then it's fine. Also the song "Single for the Rest of My Life", so many people hang on to what they can't have and must make others miserable, but this song shows maturity and takes young singing females to a whole new level. The cd is very diverse, and I think that's where Isyss wins ther fans. They dab into it all, fantasizing, loving, waiting to have sex, checking a friend and much more. Trust me you won't be disappointed with this project. Thank Goodness too, I thought R&B had turned into Hip Pop. This is exactly what the R&B scene needed. Good luck to the group and much success is wished upon them. ...
