Emancipation of Mimi
Pros: The CD has some of Mariah's boldest and heartfelt lyrics!
Cons: She has not released the second and third videos yet!
Mariah Carey started this funny whisper after belting it out on three major introductory CDs (Vision of Love, Emotions, and Dreamlover). Yet, she began whispering on the Fantasy and Daydream CDs, but it was not noticeable because the songs she released tended to be those that she belted out. For instance, "Fantasy, Always be my baby, Heartbreaker, and One Sweet Day" had more voice then whispering, so many fans may not have noticed the transition. However, when Charmbracelet came out, there was practically all whispering and a too milky smooth, typical style that even the most hardcore fans could only enjoy so much.
Finally in 2005, the Emancipation of Mimi CD cover previewed what would hopefully be a diva, stylized, up-to-date, not afraid to sing Mariah Carey. Upon receiving the CD, I noticed right away that the songs were EXTREMELY melodic and that she had chosen some direct, up-front lyrics that were atypical for her, quite like those of true superstars. I was pleased with the song "Mine" because she was giving a strong vocal performance to match the lyrics about a love that she wanted back. It was obvious that she could get him if she continued to sing like that! Next, on "Stay the night", she finally admitted that men do like her, but that she did not have to accept their advances. She did seem interested in their conversation, but could just say no! Finally, one of the many hot tracks that caught my attention was "Your girl". I like this song because Mariah is not wishing "underneath the stars" for that hot lover. Instead, she is telling him that he will be hers no matter what he thinks. I think this is the boldest song Mariah has ever made and again, she can be very convincing to her mate with this almost overbearing attitude!
To sum, Mariah Carey is back with a vengeance. She is bold and has some hot material for a great tour. Look out Beyonce, because a seasoned veteran is making her way to reclaim her pop throne through her unique vocal ability!

Emancipation of Mimi is an uplifting breakout!
2 of 2 Yahoo! Users found this review helpfulPros: The songs are very melodic and fresh!
Cons: The songs were so good that they should have been 5 minutes a piece!
Mariah Carey was so melodic and pop oriented when she came out that after about four years of listening to her in the 90s, it was a surprise to hear her first hip hop sound with ODB, but it worked because many artists were mixing rap and good sounding songs. However, Mariah has finally found the best mix of hip hop with a mixture of an unique pop sound that will move her into a new field of musical excellence. I always thought that Music Box was one of her most melodic and dance-oriented CDs, but this CD is so current and such a great mix of styles that I feel she may have topped that CD. I believe that this is most definitely a diamond album (10 million sales) and that she may be up there with Usher or even with her old 90s (high)CD sales with this product. ...
Ipod Classic Silver 80 gig
11 of 13 Yahoo! Users found this review helpfulPros: Very Portable and Sleek
Cons: Easily Scratched
The Ipod Classic 80 gigabytes was a purchase that followed owning a Zune. The Zune died after a year of use, so I decided to go with the Ipod.
The Ipod has fancy bells and whistles in comparison to the Zune. It has a moving screen that automatically starts when it is idle. The screen shows pictures that have been uploaded on the Ipod. It also has a sleek volume system and many settings that enhance the sound quality. The best part is that you can put movies and videos on it without worrying about gigabyte space being used up. Eighty gigs is a lot for a mp3 player. The cost is $250, but it is well worth it.
For those who buy one for the first time consider getting the hard plastic clear cover to put over it. This will keep it from getting scratches. It does scratch easily. ...
