Cons: @ 550 hrs. bulb burnt out just after 30 day warrenty on the bulb expired sharp wanted to charge me $481.00 to fix their faulty product.
This is a warning for people who like to keep their money. Do not buy this product the reviews are correct the bulb does burn out and Sharp will not replace it and neither will the extended warranty that you might purchase with the projector. This bulb is listed as a consumable product and it wont say that on the package it comes in. It will say 3yr warranty and 2 yr express on everything (but the bulb). You will see it if you were like me and bought the extended warranty its on the back in fine print. It says in so many words yea youre screwed but thanks for the money. Shame on you Sharp your products are no longer allowed in my house. I have contacted the BBB and yea Im not the first one for this problem. You can always call 1800BESHARP and ask for the manager Chris Dillon and he will be a little assho** and tell you its not sharps problem that their product sucks. You could try to leave a message with his boss but she left town for a week how convenient (nice pimp job). So in closing you could try to buy a new lamp online and install it your self and then try to sell the unit to some poor sap on ebay. You would be out $260 for the bulb $40 for the listing and $300 you will lose because its used and nobodys going to pay you shi* for it. The thing is SHARP could step up and say yea we messed up we will replace the bulb at a good discount or offer us a coupon for another product. Who wants to bet thats not going to happen because the guy in charge will be out of the office for an undetermined amount of time but please leave a voicemail. ...
