Nice Plasma even with local DTV Antenna
5 of 5 Yahoo! Users found this review helpfulPros: Nice Colors, DNIe
Cons: No EZ view (Zoom) - fit to screen
I bought this plasma tv at best buy, just about when they were closing for the night, got a good deal with it.
Bought a Samsung up-convert dvd player too with 1080i and plays 10 different formats.
the monster HDMI cable is very expensive, a cable for $120, geee!!!
Anyway, so far, the screen is nice, i had a LCD tv and i like the plasma more, more vivid and at the same time if you set it in movie mode, the hues are great, smooth and easy to the eyes.
The HP-S5053 has its speakers hidden, and the finish is a deep piano black, i like it alot.
got a nice channel manager too but the sounds are just basic - just OK, so i connected it to an optical audio cable to the Extigy 5.1 digital EAX HD, so far, I'm happy with it.
What I dont like or wished they had it for this TV is a digital zoom for the tv itself, the samsung dvd has a digital zoom - fit to screen , etc, and it's nice but when you watch regular tv, you're stock with whatever format the station got, especially with digital tv broadcasts.
Overall, the TV's ok. ...
Bought it on 2004
Pros: SLR, lots of lens choices
Cons: Better lens can easily get expensive, a bit slow.
There's a new XTi coming out now, price is just a bit more, so better buy the newer model.
For me, I bought it when it was the best for its time, even before Nikon sold their SLR Prosumer model.
The Compact flash that time was $230 for a 512mb Ultra II, now you can have an extreme III 1GB for 50 to 70.
One thing remains, the lens never goes cheap, so when buying yours and they offer a good deal for the extra PRo lenses, buy it.
Overall, the Canon EOS 350D is still okey for my personal use, a bit slow, but that's fine for me.
If budget's is low and just wanted a SLR with the basic PROsumer features, this might be the camera for you, but if you can spare some more, buy the newer model and always buy the quality high-end lenses, it makes a lot of difference. ...
