Great Camera with a few minor Cons.
3 of 3 Yahoo! Users found this review helpfulPros: great user interface, fast image processor, digital zoom is clear, gorgeous screen, little and compact, great battery life, excellent shooting modes
Cons: Useless flash in even relatively light rooms, no battery meter except when going dead
The Canon SD1000 digital camera is a great camera, although there are some exceptions. The SD1000 has a great user interface, beautiful screen, and great zoom quality. The only bad parts about this camera are that when the camera is at full optical and digital zoom indoors, the flash actually makes the picture darker, which can be quite annoying, especially at weddings and there is no battery meter until the battery is 5 minutes from dying. Now on to the processor. My brother has a brand new Kodak model and compared to that camera, the SD1000 is a speeding bullet. The DIGIC III image processor is super fast and I also have a High Speed SD memory card, which doubles the speed. Also, the face detection technology is truly a sight to behold. Most other cameras with face detection only find the face when you push the shutter button half way down, and is usually not very accurate. When you point the SD1000 at a person, however, the camera finds the faces, puts boxes around them, and then follows the face as it or the camera moves, all without having to push the shutter button half-way down. Very nice.
Overall, the Canon SD1000 is a great camera with a relatively low price tag, but could use some improvements in the furute. ...
2nd Generation iPod Nano
Pros: Great Battery Life, very scratch resistant, awesome click wheel, amazingly simple interface, brighter display
Cons: Tiny screen, dent-prone, click wheel is a showcase for dirt.
The 2nd generation iPod Nano 2Gig is great little music player with a big punch. First of all, is it incredibly tiny, but feels solid due to the anodized steel casing. Even though you can hold a little under 500 songs on it, two gigs might seem a little small, so you might just want to save a little more and buy the four gig model. This iPod has a lot of bang for its buck. first of all, you get the world-renowned Apple design and user interface in a comfortably designed iPod, and you get many extras. World clock, games, contacts, music search, calendar, stop watch, alarm clock, and EQ are some great features that set iPod Nano aside from the competition. It is also GREAT for working out at the gym or taking a morning jog. Some features that user might not enjoy are the limited usability, lack of FM radio, lack of voice recorder, and lack of custom EQ. After about 3-6 months of constant use, the snow white click wheel begins to fade and turn off-white, but is still usable. The screen is also not the greatest for photo-viewing.
Overall, the 2nd generation iPod Nano is a great item and should be great for a lot of people. ...
