Hilary Duff - Dignity
Pros: ^^
Cons: ^^
Duff has moved from being the pre-teen sweetheart into a young woman exploring her emotional and sexual awakening. She's also paid attention to her peers in terms of marketing. She's gone from teeny-bopper to sexual vixen to mature allure in the span of her past three albums. With Dignity she even ditches her trademark blonde locks for a more mature and definitely more mysteriously sultry brunette look ...

Elliott Yamin - Elliott Yamin
Pros: ^^
Cons: ^^
Possessing arguably the best male voice in American Idol history, season five’s third place contestant Elliott Yamin comes out firing on all cylinders, showing off that powerful voice the country came to love. Yamin proves he can do gospel and jazz just as well as contemporary R&B and traditional pop, all while sounding as if he is enjoying every second of his newfound stardom. ...

Good Charlotte - Good Morning Revival
Pros: ^^
Cons: ^^
There are two things Good Charlotte's Joel Madden would like you to know. One, that he lives in LA. Two, that he's not long split up from a long-term love. Of course, we already know these things - firstly because he's always spotted around various Hollywood haunts, and secondly he's now shacked up with Nicole 'Simple Life' Richie after splitting with girlfriend of two-and-a-half years, Disney queen Hilary Duff.
OK, let's be a little more honest. Madden really wants you to know these things. For while, in a world where Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco and My Chemical Romance have better tattoos and more finely-tuned make up skills, his band aren't concerned with improving upon the really-rather-catchy 'I Just Wanna Live' and upping the emo-pop stakes a little higher.
Second number 'The River' is a track about their adopted home, and rather predictably, reflects on how depressing/confusing/ ...etc Los Angeles can be to outsiders. 'Dance Floor Anthem', while sounding like The Killers if they'd overdosed on 90s nu-metal instead of Duran Duran and Bruce Springsteen, bangs on about 'not wanting to be in love', and this in turn is followed by single 'Keep Your Hands Off My Girl'.
They aren't even preaching their messages in a tolerable way, either. The name of the game appears to be something akin to writing dreadful songs, and attempting to mask this with over-use of numerous electronic gizmos. Imagine taking the lyrical themes of the breakthrough track 'Lifestyles Of The Rich And Famous' (a track which surely even the band must now see the irony of), removing any sense of melody, and replacing the whole lot with a three-year-old pushing random buttons on an old Casio. You might just be half way there. In short, 'Good Morning Revival' is a dire album. -

Katharine McPhee - Katharine McPhee
Pros: ^^
Cons: ^^
The album's twenty-two songwriters mostly avoid schlock but can't come up with an alternative, which makes ballads like "Better Off Alone" and tepid, McPhunky dance pop such as "Do What You Do" just bland. The upbeat "Love Story" and the decent ballad "Everywhere I Go" mix pop and R&B and provide some relief, but most of Katharine McPhee is politics as usual. ...

Akon - Konvicted
Pros: ^^
Cons: ^^
The majority of the album is produced by Akon. The only song not produced by the title artist is Smack That, the first single of the album featuring Eminem. The second single here is I Wanna Luv U recorded together with Snoop Dogg who has introduced it with his delicious sleepy sex raps ...

JoJo - The High Road
Pros: Great Album
Cons: ^^
Once JoJo gets past the parade of hip producers that try to make her sound like Janet Jackson, Beyonce, or Cassie, she gets to focus on her top-notch singing. That is when this album shines. JoJo is one of today's top teen pop stars, and a number of songs here help explain why. ...

Beyonce - B'day
Pros: My Fav Albums
Cons: Hehe
Yup ! Bee ... !!! It's a rockier, edgier Bee belting out her I`m-my-own woman perspective on such intense tracks as "Ring the Alarm," the Tina Turner-esque funk/rock fest "Suga Mama" and the slick, wicked "Kitty Kat." Bee shifts into emotive mode on the ballad "Resentment," which calls to mind the subtle fervor and passion of the best girl groups of the `60s and `70s and I very like " Irreplaceable" & "Listen" , so cool !!! ...
Avril Lavigne - The Best Damn Thing
Pros: ^^
Cons: ^^
The Best Damn Thing wasn't made for them, nor was it made with any sense (or even regard) for the past: it was made to exist totally in the moment, in a time when a moment speeds by faster than light. And, frankly, that's what good about The Best Damn Thing: it's as exuberant, irreverent, and exciting as any other bubblegum pop, defiantly silly and shallow, but also deliriously hooky. If Lavigne didn't have the hooks -- if neither "Girlfriend" nor the title track weren't driven by cheerleader chants, if "Everything Back But You" didn't snarl like prime Green Day, if "I Can Do Better" didn't soar on its chorus -- her snotty attitude would be unbearable, but these are terrific, addictive pop songs that are harder and tougher yet feel fresher and lighter than her big hits from Let Go. True, this is far from deep, but Under My Skin proved that a deep Avril is a dull Avril. The Best Damn Thing, in contrast, builds on every one of her bratty strengths, which makes for ridiculously catchy pop -- the kind of music that provides a soundtrack for teens and guilty pleasures for everyone else ...
