Godsmack are back and even better
3 of 4 Yahoo! Users found this review helpful This has got to be Godsmack's best album so far, it really is amazing. It is unlike what they have done before, Sully's range of vocals are better than they've ever been, Shannon's drumming is so unique, Robbie's bass playing is as good as ever and Tony's guitar riffs are just brilliant. Now I'm going to quickly review each track:1 - Straight Out Of Line. This is a decent track, if not slightly repetitive after a while. It's got a great chorus that you can shout your lungs out to and Shannon's drumming really is intense. I give it 8/10
2 - Faceless. A great self-titled track, I hope that this is the bands next single. Tony's guitar playing on this is really good and the chorus.. "Lie to me, you're faceless" is another great shout-along line :) 9/10
3 - Changes. Great hard-hitting track, mainly due to Shannon's brilliant drum playing once again. 9/10
4 - Make Me Believe. This is the first track on the album that really hit me, as Sully's range in vocals is really amazing. He's never sounded like it before and never sounded so good :) 9/10
5 - I Stand Alone. Well, we've all heard it before haven't we. Nuff' said. 7/10
6 - Re-Align. This is another really hard, stomping track - one to really turn up full blast. 9/10
07 - I Fu**ing Hate You. A great track to release all that built up anger to, shout this out to all those people that really (beep) you off. 9/10
08 - Releasing The Demons. One of my favourite tracks on the album. Starts off really slow and builds up even better. 10/10
09 - Dead And Broken. This is an OK track, but does seem to get rather repetitive after a while. I still quite like it all the same. 8/10
10 - I Am. This is another quite unique track. The drum beat intro really gets you moshing away to it and sounds like nothing else. 10/10
11 - The Awakening. I nice little tribal interlude to Serenity. 8/10
12 - Serenity. Wow. Think Voodoo but much better. Words cannot describe the brilliance of this song. So mellow it makes you want to cry, one to look out for. 10/10
So all in all a really great album to get into, I can't stop listening to it. Some great tracks to blast out really loud and release some anger to and then one even better track to chill out to - which seems to sum up the whole album's feel. The only low point of this album I feel is "I Stand Alone" simply because it has been over-played so much.
