Cons: Mac support not easy to find or non-existant.
This is my first MiniDV camcorder and I was looking for a camcorder that would shoot in 16:9 widescreen and that would be Mac application compatible and priced easy on the wallet. This one does all three. I searched the web for Mac support articles on this model but found none, so I took a risk and bought one at my local Sam's club for $179, then bought a IEEE1394 Firewire cable (6pin/4pin) to hook it up to my 20" Intel iMac. I shot some test video then hooked the camera up via the firewire cable and opened up iMovie HD application. iMovie insantly displayed the camera on the screen and imported the content with no problems! Like I said in the tiltle this is just my preliminary impressions and my change once I have become more familliar with the camera, but this is mainly for those other Mac users out there that where wondering "if" this camera would work on their Mac. ...
