Good after a few listens
I was really excited when I picked this up at the local record store. Later, I popped in and experienced a huge dissapointment. It was moe., one of the best jammers in the world, playing pop-sounding songs.
Boy, was I pissed. I was just sitting with my mouth open wondering what the hell was up with moe. WHY WERE THEY PLAYING POP SONGS.
But, once i got passed the fact that is was over-produced and jamlacking, it was pretty damn good. All the songs are great. The only one I couldn't get into was So Long. The rest are just wonderful. It may take a few listens, but Dither is a great album.
It is a great compromise if you are with nonjamband fans. You will like it, and it is poppy enough for outsiders to enjoy it. ... -

Not the best but...
This is it, Phish has gone funk. With this album, they seem to have changed their sound a lot. This album is not as good as their earlier albums, but is a lot better than the disapointing Billy Breathes. I think this album is very acessable to the general public, so Phish could gain a lot of new fans from this album. I like the funk, but this album has almost no jamming, which is disappointing, because phishes new more funk oriented jams "kick ass". ... -

GOOD
I think it a great idea for phish to release full concerts. Their concerts are what made them famous and is the real showcase of their talents. Many people complain about there being no long jams on this album. I know one thing, I dont want to sit at home and listen to 30 minute extended jams. Basically, their concert are great at the concerts. Having the music at home
is nice, but it can be boring. ...
Good
Moe is an amazing band and this album captures live moe. the best. Unfortunately, it is not their greatest show ever. Still, it is a good album.
