Blood Ties: Book Two Possession.
Pros: Sequel, Vampires, Romance.
Cons: The Plot.
I am an avid reader, and writer of Paranormal Romance. I loved Jennifer's first partake of the Vampire world she's created. In The Turning we meet Dr. Carrie Aimes, and follow her ordeal into becoming a vampire, and figuring out what's important to her. We all know she kills Cyrus, and falls in love with Nathan. YAY!
Well Possession is the sequel to The Turning, and the Thrillogy is due out some time in August.
Let me give y'all a little tease from the book, then I'll let you all know how I really felt...
The book starts off only two months after the killing of Cyrus, and the Soul Eater, escaping. Carrie is now living with Nathan, and training nightly. She's starting to have these odd dreams about her old sire, Cyrus, and Nathan is yet again watching her to make sure nothing is happening. Something happens one evening while Nathan is in the shop, and Carrie finds him Possessed. Carrie isn't sure what to do, but calls upon Max for help. Remember Max? The funny, sexy vamp from the first one? Well, he's back, with a lot of baggage of his own.
Mean while we meet different NEW and surprisingly fresh characters. Carrie goes on a hunt of her own once she realizes Cyrus is back from the dead, and the Soul Eater is back to pay him and Nathan a little visit.
Cyrus is confused and HUMAN! After seven hundred years of being a murdering vampire he doesn't know how to be a human, that eats and breaths. His only help is a young human girl that he calls Mouse. Mouse is a shy, virginal girl, that Cyrus cannot stand in the beginning, but he actually falls in love with her.
Carrie finds him and kidnaps Cyrus in order to stop his father from redoing his creation. Mouse is killed and once again Cyrus's mortal heart is broken. Everything he loves is always taken from him, and always by the hands of his father.
Now it's payback time, but first Carrie must save Nathan, from himself.
In order to do that Nathan must overcome the pain of his past, and face his torment, Marianne. His wife, that he killed the night he was turned.
Finally Nathan allows himself to over come his guilt, and he comes back, but not to Carrie. They need time away from one another, and they both know it.
Carrie and Nathan love each other and it's a lot more then just some sire, fledgling love they share. Carrie leaves with Max to go back to Chicago. The Soul Eater lives, another day.
Cyrus is gone living his mortal life, the best way he understands how. Then the book ends.
In my honest opinion the book was pretty well thought out, and I found it pretty creative. I pray Carrie and Nathan can move past everything and finally reach one another.
The book dragged a lot, but other then bits and pieces it was still a wonderful read. I cannot wait for the third one in August. ... -

Eternal Hunger.
Pros: Vampires.
Cons: The Whole Book.
You know I really expected more from this one, you know it being the last book of the series, but what do I get, what do us readers get? This sorry excuse of childish emotions and random run-on thoughts that doesn't flow.
In the second time since I've started reading, I've never felt so cheated. My first, cause Sam I Am, finally gave in and ate the "green eyes and ham."
Let's see, Candice gets bitten and now she's in middle ground of being a vampire, but she doesn't want to be a total vamp so she doesn't drink human or animal blood. Ash and her are always having sex. I mean I love a great passion but come on, come up for some air people. You cannot have sex every second of y'alls life.
Ash and Her decide to plan this "BIG" bang for The Board. Things don't go as planned and they both end up in this cave where in just hours Ash will be the killed. With his death The Board will truly be "Immortal". Candice ends up the one immortal out of them all but she has to take Ash's life.
After all this she realizes she should have let him take her the first time, maybe he would be alive now. I hate women like this. I'm totally pissed off about this...crap!
Well I saved you $6.99, so please send your Thank You cards to me. This isn't worth your time, hell it wasn't worth mine, but still I took my time to finish the babble.
Ah! Just glad it's over.
So in conclusion.
Candice turns into a Vampire, they have ALOT of sex, Ash gets hurt, Candice whines, Ash is killed, Candice turns back human, and starts seeing that cop, Carl again?
Yeah, I just killed the love of my life, and now, I'm going to start seeing my ex... again. ... -

The Night Walkers: Jacob
Pros: Paranormal Romance
Cons: Dull Ending
Jacob the Enforcer lived and played by the rules from birth. When out on a hunt to track down humans that summoned one of his kind, Demons. He finds himself drawn to a beautiful mortal woman named, Isabella.
It's against their laws to tangle with mortals, but Jacob cannot stop himself from wanting to be with her mind, body, and soul.
Things twist and turn in this book, and it has some pretty interesting things happen. All and All I loved it.
Of course I'm more of a Vampire lover, but this still held me on for a good ride.
I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in Paranormal Romance or just the Paranormal field it's self. ... -

Luscious Craving
Pros: Vampires
Cons: All The Rest.
I really liked the first installment of this three part series, but the second book just struck me as a total waste of my time.
In this book, we tend to go a little deeper into the past of Ash, which is pretty cool in it's self. We realize that not only was it fate that brought him and Candace together it was a group of vampires called The Board.
This second book dragged. It was a bittersweet thing to read. I was once again upset by the ending of this book. I had better hopes from reading the first, but sadly I was let down.
This will not stop me from buying the third, and final book later on, but I hope Cameron Dean pulls something together to keep her readers, reading her stuff. ... -

Hush
Pros: Suspenseful
Cons: Gruesome
Awhile back I pick this book up cause the cover "Jacket" had four words that spoke to me. "What's Your Greatest Fear?" Being a parent I knew what mine was. This book struck my very soul, and then twisted it beyond belief.
For over 20 years a serial killer has been terrorizing Chicago with his brutal murdering of Unwed Mother's and their infant son's. The only chance to find this killer is to bring back the ONLY person that got away from him.
16 years ago Claudia Reynolds was a young woman with a new son to care for but before she could bask in the new glow of motherhood, it was taken away by a manic on a mission. She survived but her son wasn't as lucky. She went in hiding soon after and as far as the rest of the world knew Claudia Reynolds was dead.
Now the past has come back to haunt her, but she's no longer that young woman that was murdered in Chicago. She has a new life, a new career, and a new name.
Ivy Dunlap comes back to face her past, to comfort it, and to catch the man that killed her son, and tried to kill her.
In a wicked game of cat and mouse, the game becomes obvious to both sides in this thriller.
So I ask now...What's Your Greatest Fear? ... -

Dark Side Of The Moon
Pros: Vampire Romance
Cons: Little Print.
Not only is this title a great song from Pink Floyd, it's also a great story.
Susan Micheals used to be a real hot reporter, until she trusted the wrong person, and her career took a drive down the "Hershey Highway". Now working as a bogus writer for one of those "Enquirer" bits, she gets handed a story about a Catman that lurks by a fish wear house. Before she could break her story, she gets called to come see her friend at an animal shelter were she encounters an odd but very interesting Leopard looking cat. Having been pushed to take the cat home with her, she then realizes Puss in Boots just isn't a normal everyday street cat. He turns in to a gorgeous man right before her eyes.
Ravyn Kontis was a Were-Hunter turned Dark-Hunter when he was also betrayed by a person he trusted. Now by that Fates he's in the hands of a woman who thinks some kind of joke it being pulled on her. In order to find out what's happening to his fellow brethren Ravyn must protect Susan at all costs, but from the looks and her moves, he' sure she can protect herself. In the end will they come together and fight for their lives or will they both surrender to something they can never have...Each other!
I found this book interesting. I love how all these different authors can take a fictional beast and make them into something more. Something other then ... dare I say Evil?
Even though the print put a damper on my eyes, I still found it cutting edge, and very doable. Okay, yes, the romance is amazing to say the least, and I love how people and immortals seem to rise above the mess and still come out on top.
Like I've said before, if you love Paranormal Romance or Vampires, then you should read this book. ... -

Passionate Thirst
Pros: Vampires
Cons: The Ending!
I feel for this book on the first page, and I literally couldn't put it down. I read it from cover to cover in a matter of hours. It's been awhile since I did that with a book. I kept me interested and very hopeful, but I was mildly disappointed at the end. But very hopeful since this isn't the last of her books on those charters.
The book is about a Vampire Hunter named Candace Steele. She worked security at a casino in Las Vegas. Not only does she hunt down the most powerful vamps around, she's also in love with one powerful vamp herself. Ash is brave and determined to finally made Candace his...forever. Candace loves life and isn't about to give her's up with out a fight.
I recommend this one to any Vampire Romance Lover, like myself! ... -

Love At First Bite
Pros: Four Books In One
Cons: Not Long Enough
For me the first, and the fourth story really hit me. I loved them. The second and the third are okay, but the writers coulda used a bit more imagination. All and all a pretty good book.
1. Until Death Do Us Part.
2. Ride The Night Wind.
3. The Gift.
4. The Forgotten One. ... -

Just One Sip
Pros: Three Books In One
Cons: Wish They Were Longer
The book is made of three different novelettes. The first one called "Viva Las Vampire". Was just great. It added a new touch on an old charter. (Vampires) It was an interesting read, and funny to boot. I love different types of vampire romance, so this was an awesome read.
( this is about a married couple that becomes one of the undead and when the wife sees her husband kill her father, she leaves her husband to suffer with out her. After 500 years being apart the wife finally thinks its time to have a divorce. Things go a little crazy, and some funny things happen.)
The second story "Bring Out Your Dead". Was also really good. Not only does it combined vampires with the mortal world, but brings different types of ghouls into the equation. It funny, sexy, and just plain breathtaking.
( this one is about a special needs consular that helps with undead zombies. One day she runs into a sexy vampire that wants nothing less then her, forever. But he has to take a number, cause not only does every zombie in town need her, so does a nasty demon. All HELL breaks lose!)
The third installment of this book is "Lucy And The Crypt Casanova". This one tossed my whole imagination out of wacko. Like the rest it brings the vampires out into the open for everyone to see. It's a fresh bite for vampires, and a very interesting read once again. Out of all the stories in this book, this one appealed to me the most.
( A wannabe Oprah has a show in Louisiana, doing topics that would make Jerry Springer blush. It's all about supernatural people...Etc.
She meets back up with her old vampire boyfriend, who is now a cop. There's a crazy incubus running around sucking the life out of beautiful women, but all she can think about is getting her own sucker, to pay attention to her.)
All and all the book is worth your time, and money. I loved it, and I know you will too. ...
Bite Me, If You Can.
Pros: Fun, Witty... and Did I Mention Sexy?
Cons: None that I could think of.
Leigh is a hard working business owner in Kansas. One night on her way home in the wee hours of the morning, she's attacked and turned into a Vampire, against her will by a Rouge Vampire, Morgan.
Lucian Argeneau is a hunter of rouge vampires, and does his damnedest to capture them. While on the trail of Morgan, Lucian and his men find Leigh, and take her away from danger.
Once she's out of the way, sorta, Morgan and his fledgling Donny escape. Lucian now finds himself stuck with the newly turning, Leigh. Lucian is over two thousand years ago, and he doesn't really have the time or patience's to deal with her. To many questions.
Leigh ends up lighting a fire inside of Lucian, that he hasn't felt since the fall of Atlantis. Leigh makes him find love again. Something he thought would never happen to him.
They over come their pasts, and defeat their demon together, Morgan.
Lynsay Sands, has written a few books on the Argeneau family. I've lucky have every one so far, and I've never been disappointed in her work.
I suggest getting "BIT" by her novels. ...
