Good Follow-up
Lyrically Nas is the best rapper in the game, maybe of all-time. This cd showed story-telling ability beyond anyone I have ever heared. No "Illmatic" but dope sophmore effort. ... -

Nas Ain't Dead
This still shows Nas as a materialistic rapper and far from his "Illmatic" days. Lyrically he is still one of the illest but not quite what we would expect from a guy who put out one of the best cds of all-time. It's dope, but not Nas. ... -

Another Classic
This is the first time since his first album we've heard the real Nas. Every album he did in between from "It Was Written" to the very sub-par "Nastradamus" was a pop cultured Nas. And without him, rap took a nose dive into boredom. Especially after B.I.G. and Pac died rap just wasn't the same as it used to be. Though "Stillmatic" brings back the Nas we always wanted to him to be. Even though many rappers have taken shots at the dude, he destorys all of them within two tracks ("Ether" and "Destroy & Rebuild"). Like "Illmatic" Nas goes back to his project views instead of the Hollywood themes you saw on his other albums. In addition, Nas brings back the art of concept rap, which seems to have disappeared in the game today ("Rewind" and "One Mic"). And then when it's all said and done there's the songs about today's government, like "Rule" which samples Tears For Fears "Everybody Wants To Rule The World". Then there's arguably Nas' best verse on the album in "What Goes Around Comes Around", a song about today's "poisons". "Illmatic" was hip hop in the early 90s, and it looks like "Stillmatic is hip hop in the millenium. ... -

The New South
There were the first group to put the south on the map. "Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik" show that they have the lyrics and the beats to compete with NY and CA. One of the best debut albums to ever come out. ... -

Really Good
Right after the critically acclaimed "Aquemini" it's hard to top yourself. Coming out with "B.O.B." is a good effort, but unless you a re very big Outkast fan, I sense people aren't falling for it. "Ms. Jackson" and "So Fresh So Clean" are sturdy qualtiy rap songs that everyone can come around too. "Ms. Jackson" probably could be the best song of the year (or at least top 5). But joints like "Gasoline Dreams" and the aforementioned "B.O.B." hinder "Stankonia" to what "Aquemini" was. But then again, "Stankonia" has it's victories in it's own right, like the ability to give Hip-hop another dimension. ... -

Really Good
0 of 1 Yahoo! Users found this review helpful This cd had it's highs and lows. FOr instance highs would be, "Streets Is Watching" and "You Must Love Me", lows; "The City Is Mine" featuring Blackstreet, and "Sunshine" with Foxy Brown and Babyface. But in the end, Jay-Z just makes good music. ... -

Unbelievable
This cd probably is the closest (besides The Blueprint) to being a classic. The only problem is, way too many cameos (that were sub par) and nothing really from the heart. BUt still majorly bangin'. ...
Best Album Of All-Time?
A masterpiece. A journey into the eyes of a young man growing up in the projects. If not best cd ever, it's in the top three.
