Cons: Too short a series
Now, I'm not a fan of the 'western' genre by any stretch of the imagination, but I tuned into HBO one night to check out this new series and after five minutes, I was hypnotized. Another great series from this groundbreaking cable station. From the creator of "NYPD Blue" (David Milch), "Deadwood" absolutely blew my away! The performances are incredible (especially David Carradine at Wild Bill Hickock), the storylines very strong. The story centers on the historical town of Deadwood and it's struggle to stay what it is, a lawless, heathen place amidst the settling of America's new west. Remarkable stuff! I can't speak for the DVD yet since it's not out, but I can't wait to pick this set up! And I'll be looking for Season 2 shortly. With both "Sopranos" and "Six Feet Under" coming to an end, "Deadwood" is a remarkable achievement that should get a bigger following in coming seasons. ...
