Does The Basic Job Well
Pros: Simple To Operate
Cons: Doesn't have all the extra "bells and whistles"
As has been my previous experience with other Sony products, the DVP-NS700H only has the features that get the basic job done. In this DVD player's case, it doesn't have a USB port, DIVX capability, and some of the other toys. But, that's fine with me. I just wanted an up-converting player that is easy to use and does the job reliably. That's just what I got with this DVD player.
Some people have aired concerns about Sonys not lasting long. I've only had that happen to me a few times over many years. I can't complain. Sony has served me really well and the DVP-NS700H off to a very good start. So far, I'm happy with it. It does the basic job very well. I rest my case. ... -

My First HDTV
2 of 3 Yahoo! Users found this review helpfulPros: Features, Price, Product Availability
Cons: Not sure. This is my first HDTV
I got this 32LG30 TV "open box" at a good price. Since this is my first HDTV, this will be a good learning tool for me during the digital/HDTV transition.
This TV has lots of user adjustable features all around - picture controls for example. Also, quite a few switching operations must be done manually. That might be a pain for some, but an advantage for others since this allows you more control.
Presently, I have the TV connected to cable without the separate cable box. In the auto channel search mode, it may take quite a few minutes to find "all reachable" channels. In my case, the 32LG30 found over 130 channels. Some were duplicates while some others were "scrambled". But, I can remove those. I suspect that cable TV is in a shambles right now because of the DTV transition hence the reason for those unnecessary channels.
Again, this is my first HDTV. So it will be a learning tool as I make the transition to digital/HDTV. That said, the 32LG30 should serve my needs. BTW, anything that I scored as 3 are issues that are not important to me (Sound Quality) or I don't really know about (Quality and Support). ... -

Serves My Needs
Pros: Pretty Versatile
Cons: More "features" then I'll ever use
I got this unit at a garage sale and found out that it has more features than I will ever use. After downloading the manual from Sony, I found out how to turn features on or off. Once I set it up the way I wanted it (almost completely manual operation), I recorded from some cassettes, LPs, and CDs (in the analog mode). Overall they turned out pretty good. There was some distortion on one track from a CD, but I don't think that it was the machines fault. Still, I'm happy with what I got. Even if it is not "perfect", it serves my needs. ...

It Does The Job
1 of 1 Yahoo! Users found this review helpfulPros: Pretty much plug and play
Cons: Not familiar this brand
I bought this router to link a midrange Windows Vista and midrange MAC. I was too lazy to use the CD, so I just followed the written instructions. I didn't really know what was going to happen at first. But, when I fired everything up, both computers worked without any problems. How easy is that? Anything that I rated only three bars are things that I didn't consider. ...

MUCH Better Than What I Was Hearing
Pros: Very easy to use and very similar to XP in many ways
Cons: Has some very minor bugs that I'm sure will be ironed out. Windows marketing could be better.
My compliments about Windows Vista and my coplaints against MAC Leopard are much to long to list here. All I can say is that after trying both of them out, Vista is the clear winner for me. I can go almost anywhere with Vista's IE7. That was not the case with MAC Leopard's Safari. A lot of the secondary features are also easier to use on Vista than on MAC. BTW, anything that I rated as just OK are things that I haven't given that much thought to. But still, in my view, Windows vista is the clear winner here. ...

It's Different
4 of 5 Yahoo! Users found this review helpfulPros: Nice Big Screen, Minimal Equipment Clutter
Cons: Stock OS Not so Great
A family member surprised me with this iMAC20 on Christmas Day. I was slowly looking at newer computers, but wasn't even considering an Apple MAC.
I have already fallen in love with the nice big screen and the minimal equipment clutter. The keyboard could have used a little more convenience features compared to my old HP, but I can get around that.
My 3 bar (just OK) ratings are for things that are still up in the air. These "issues" focus around the MAC OS Leopard operating system. I don't like it. It isn't right for my needs. Microsoft Windows XP in my old computer did everything that I needed it to do and was easy to operate.
I understand that the iMAC20 will run Windows also. So, when I install that, maybe these "issues" will be cleared up and "just OK" will be upgraded.
Overall, the machine is great, but the stock operating system, I can do without. ... -

A LOT of Headphone for the Price
Pros: Surprisingly high quality sound
Cons: Nothing of importance given the price
I actually have three Koss UR29s. One is the Radio Shack version model 33-1221. I need them at various locations.
These headphones have VERY high quality sound for their price. They sound kind of like high quallity big speakers without the annoying in room "boominess". Bass goes surprisingly deep (pipe organ for example). The midrange and highs also have fine qualities. Their overall tonal balance is very pleasant.
Keep in mind that these are foldable headphones. Like other foldables, be a little careful when folding or unfolding these (for obvious reasons).
I must admit that I've heard better headphones, but they were MUCH MORE expensive. I could not afford them.
Overall, I don't think that you'll be disappointed with the KOSS UR29. They are VERY good for the price. ... -

More Than I Expected
Pros: Very flexible and easy to operate.
Cons: Could use a turntable (phono) input.
I bought this receiver a year ago to replace another one that developed tuner issues. Not only is the tuner a great performer on the Pioneer, but the whole receiver is very flexible concidering its price. Also, the sound is NOTHING to laugh at....it is surprisingly good. I would have liked an actual phono input, but that is no real issue since there are some outboard phono preamps available. Try this one out or whatever the latest model is that came after this one. You may like it. ...
Good For Home Use Also
Pros: Very Well Designed - Not Unusual for MTX
Cons: Large box works best
I bought the MTX driver to use for home subwoofer duty instead of car audio duty ( I bought a home sub amp from elsewhere) and tried it in several boxes that I already had built up. I ended up installing it in a vented 3.9 cu.ft. box that has a 4" round by 10" long port. The result is very deep bass that is almost never boomy. That brings me to my next point. Don't put the T5512-04 in a small box, because you may not get the best that it has to offer. I know that small boxes might be the only way to go in car audio which is perfectly understandable. But should you decide to buy one of these for home use, go large and vented when building a box for it. I would also not hesitate trying one in an existing home sub system should you need to replace a driver that got damaged somehow. ...
