This is a good Star Trek but not great!
This is a good Star Trek movie but it's not great! I enjoyed this film but it's not really what original Star Trek represents. Too much emphasis was on the special effects rather then the Story. The Movie looks more like 2001: Space Odessy. The story is about an Alien prob unbelieveable destructive power who reaches Federation Space searching for its creator. It is up to Admiral Kirk and the rest of the newly refitted Starship USS Enterprise to stop the alien before it reachs Earth to possible destory it. Star Trek: The Motion Picture is directed by (Robert Wise) and stars William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, Deforest Kelly, Stephen Collins (7th Heaven), and Presist Khambatta. When this film was released in 1979 in did extremely well in the Box office! It made about $179 million dollars!) I like this film but it doesn't have the true meaning of the original Star Trek in it. Too much special effects and not enough plot. (C+) ... -

A Great Star Trek Movie!
This is a great Star Trek Movie! Nicholas Meyer co-wrote and directed this film! Star Trek VI Director Nicholas Meyer captures the true essense of what the original Star Trek is all about! Captain Kirk (William Shaner) and DR. McCoy (Deforest Kelly in his very last Star Trek performace!)are framed for the Murdur of Klingon Chancelor Gorgon (David Warner) It is up to Captain Spock (Leonard Nimoy) and the rest of the USS Enterprise crew to prove of Kirk and McCoy's innocence. Mr. Sulu (George Takei) Becomes Captain Sulu of the USS Excelsior! Christopher Plummer (General Chang) plays the main villian in this film who tries to stop Kirk and Enterprise from interupting the assination of the Klingon Chancelor's Daughter. Great film! A Good Star Trek movie.
This a good Star Trek Movie but not better then Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. Star Trek III: The Search for Spock has some great elements in its script, special effects, and has many shocking surprises. But it doesn't deliever a great performance by the original cast. Don't get me wrong! This was not a bad film but I felt it could have been better. Leonard Nimoy does a great job with Directing Star trek III but he doesn't have Nicholas Meyer's ability to direct a great script to film. But I will give this movie 3 stars because I do find it enjoyable and it will please any Star Trek fan but slightly. ... -
