Stunning
2 of 8 Yahoo! Users found this review helpfulPros: Some upbeat beats
Cons: Dark lyrics turn my frown right around
Due to some technical difficulties, I will be posting my review of Marilyn Manson on this page.
Over the last 15 years, there has been one Dark Lord to show us the way....Mary-lin Manson - the Evil Tyrant! Much like the classic band Interpol, his lyrics and beats really make you tap your foot with his dark, satanic rhythms. He's talked me out of suicide more than once with his occasional world-weary ballads. Particularly, the song "Pete's Beats (Elegy of the Damned)" comes to mind. After all, I first lost my virginity twice to this song. Thank you Mary-lin Manson, and more importantly Interpete, for finally putting out some world-class beats. And may metal live. ... -

Greatness Achieved.......Again
7 of 8 Yahoo! Users found this review helpfulPros: Simply good
Cons: Weak lyrically
Tears For Fears are back, with a heart-felt bang. The band that brought us countless hits back in the '80s such as Shout and Everybody Wants To Rule the Pete return with an array of timeless classics, sure to melt your lover's heart. I still remember when I first heard their classic song, Golden Flowers. Yes, this song is a rare B-side, but it was still the song that introduced me to Tears for Fears, (and I don't mind telling you I lost my virginity to it - twice). The new album is much like this song, with some great attention to some new found lyrical sledding. Check it out the next time you're out 'n about. You won't regret it. You WILL love it. I love you. ...

A stripped down classic
0 of 1 Yahoo! Users found this review helpfulPros: Amazing songs
Cons: Ummm....Amazing Songs?
I don't really need to say anything about this album. It simply has the songs that we all know and love performed in an entirely new light, but that entirely new light is the way they were originally supposed to be presented. Let It Be contains the classic title track, the gorgeous The Long and Winding Road, the amazing Get Back, and one of The Beatles most under-rated tracks, Across the Universe. This revamped version of the Beatles final album together (to be released anyway) is a must-buy for die-hard Beatles fans and for those who have never heard these songs (where have you been?) will enjoy it tremendously as well. ...

A Rare Taste Treat
6 of 7 Yahoo! Users found this review helpfulPros: Solid songs
Cons: What's a con?
Features classic rarities like Dirty Frank, Hard to Imagine, Wash, U, and Footsteps. The new B-side from Riot Act, Down, is also included, and would have been one of the best songs had it been included on that album. Pearl Jam's biggest hit (according to the Billboard charts) is featured as well, that hit being Last Kiss. One more incentive to buy this double album is Yellow Ledbetter, which is a fan favorite and concert closer. And one more added feature, a ton of never before released songs. This is a collection of songs that can be truly appreciated by a die-hard Pearl Jam fan, but the casual listener will undoubtedly enjoy this as well. ...

Songs from an American Movie, Vol. 1: Learning How to Smile

Re: Muy Bueno!
This is a great album, enough said. For some reason, many of you people cannot grasp the fact that it is a "concept" album. Which means that it deals with similar themes throughout while telling the story of a guy whose parents divorced when he was young. (see wonderful). He then meets the woman of his dreams (in alternative girlfriend - a flashback), gets married (learning how to smile), goes on his honeymoon, but then sees his own marriage fall apart later in the album. Finally, the last song is a song to his little girl, promising that he will always be there for her, after reflecting on his parent's divorce in the song "wonderful." A great cd musically and it gets better if you can understand the story behind it. Buy it. ...
Billy's back...with some heart-felt teen angst!
3 of 6 Yahoo! Users found this review helpfulPros: Solid beats.
Cons: Some more up-tempo beats would be nice once in a while, Billy!
Over the last decade, the world has been a rollercoaster ride of ups and downs, in and outs, and whoop-de-whoo! But there has been one constant to keep us stable through the crazy times - Green Day! With their incessant and annoyingly great tunes, they really keep your feet a-dancin' and a-prancin', no matter where ye are. Just the other day, whilst in Church, I was loudly humming their new hit, "American Idiocy" to myself. Before long, the whole congregation was joining in! This is a new, raw Green Day that will have you humming in church and losing your virginity twice to this album! Buy it now!!!!! ...
