Not what I expected from NetGear
Pros: Extended range
Cons: Price, lack of reliability
Having had great luck with NetGear's 54 Mbps products, I decided to move up to the RangeMax line this year.
Range is good. I have my router and main PC upstairs in my house while I have another PC connected to the Rangemax wireless network in my garage office. The WPN511 is in my Dell Inspiron 600m which I use to do drive-in appraisals.
The problem is that I am on my second card since January. BOTH cards I have had have the exact problem. They will not connect and/or be recognized on a regular basis. The first one got so bad it would bring on the "blue screen of death" 3-4 times a week.
The newest one hasn't done that...yet. But for the $100 it costs, it should be a much more reliable unit. ...
