Dukey play great Jazz
Great! For most tracks an instrumental album with fine acoustic piano solos. Very funky, although C. McBride plays acoustic bass on most tracks. George also a very fine new drummer on this album. ... -

red-hot
One of the highlights of the blue note catalog. An incredible all-star band playing great hard bop compositions at breakneck tempo. -

kicks ass
1 of 1 Yahoo! Users found this review helpful Forget the AMG-Review, this album is great. All of the 3 GFR musicians are wonderful, but Mel Schacher again is awesum, listen to the sound of his bass. People, lets stop the war is the best, starting with bass and then the wah-wah-guitar enters. This is the sound of the early 70s, if you are 40-50 years old, you will love that album, if you are 20, check out what your dad listened in his teens. ... -

the real masterpiece
Prior to this album they had an album entitled Masterpiece, which was not that strong, but this one is one of the best soul-albums in history. This is in fact a solo album by Ronnie produced by Angela Winbush and does not feat. the Isley rhythm section (Ernie, Marvin & Chris) from the 70ies but has excellent studio musicians like Nathan East on bass and Tony Maiden on gtr. The compositions are very strong and Ronnie is marvelous. His Message to my brother (OKelly, who died the year before) is very touching. ... -

Not that bad
1 of 1 Yahoo! Users found this review helpful Well, it is not progressive rock for the most parts, it is just pop music, but not that bad.
I like it, and if you like popular music, try it out, else skip it. ... -

Ok, but one track missing
Either you like it or you do not, that belongs to you. But the Nice have definately been one of the innovative groups of progressive rock mixed with classical elements (Bach, Sibelius etc.). But they deleted the last track on cd 2 accidently in the manufacturing process. This track (She belongs to me) would have been 12 minutes long and according to other reviews is one of their best songs, so check out cd 2, before you buy that album, hopefully they did not made that mistake worldwide. ... -

What a debut
Some of their most famous songs are already here on their first album: Into the sun, Are you ready, Heartbreaker. But the other songs are great, too.
