Users found this review helpful While purists who have read Maeve Binchey`s novel may argue that the film bares only skeletal resemblance to the book, there is no doubting that the film is an enjoyable take on it. Swinging between whimsical and heartbreaking,the story tells of three childhood friends who reunite at university and discover that adult life and love are not all that they expected it to be. The central figure of Bernadette Hogan (Benny, ably played by an impressive Minnie Driver) is used for the narrative in this Irish set romantic drama. Chris O` Donnel is perfectly cast as her love interest Jack,the college rugby stud who falls for her in a big way. The film follows the friends through various tragedies and triumphs and there isn`t a duff Irish accent in site! ...
