I have thrown every possible recording options at this drive and have yet to make those awful coasters. Mainly used to backup vast DVD collection. I use a sony laptop (XP OS) with firewire connection and it works just as fast as an internal. Just flash the firmware and upgrade it too 4x write and thats it. READ DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE DOING THIS!!!! GET IT YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED. Software included needs help but i never opened the installation disc. I used the new updated NERO to burn and Power DVDXP to view great combo a must have for this drive to work at its best potential. ...
