Beware of the IXY 800 IS - same camera no warrenty

Cons: No warranty outside of Japan
So I ordered from the cheapest place listed, and failed to notice that they had the camera listed as a SD700 IS/IXY800 IS (the SD700 IS in big font, the IXY800 IS in smaller font). Once it arrived it didn’t have a warranty card and the manual was a stapled together photocopy of a manual (I assume this isn’t normal). Looking at the box, it says very clearly:
FOR JAPAN ONLY
NOT INTENDED FOR SALE OUTSIDE JAPAN.
CONTAINS NO WARRANTY FOR OUTSIDE JAPAN.
Obviously the site I bought this from failed to note this little factoid… After mulling this over I have decided a 20% reeducation in cost mitigates the risk of no warranty (and the pain/cost of returning it…). However I just wanted to warn everyone else to be careful about what they are buying. Please vote this post useful so others don’t unwittingly make this mistake.
As for the camera, it is great, the IS works very well, and it takes great pictures. Apart from the warranty issue I love this camera. ...
