Washer is not balanced well on pedastal

Cons: You have to babysit the machine when spinning.
Don't let the salesperson talk you into getting the pedastals. I thought it would be great to have storage under the washer and for the washer to be raised up, making it easier to load and unload. The washer doesn't attach very well to the pedastal and the machine doesn't balance the load very well when in the spin cycle. As a result, the machine sounds like an aircraft taking off when it spins dry. I called Maytag support once and they came out with a "kit" which basically consisted of additional clamps to hold the machine to the ped and sandpaper discs to go beneath the feet on the floor. This causes the washer to be slightly shorter than the dryer which looks like heck. This "kit" solution worked temporarily but it only took a couple months for the machine to vibrate off the sandpaper pads and now we're back to having to babysit the machine during each load. I never thought I would have this kind of trouble when spending big bucks ($2500) on top-of-the-line machines and pedastals. ...
