james chance at his best
Pros: it's his masterpiece
Cons: as always with james it's a mixture of good and bad
this is my fav. chance material. it's him at his best. which for his music means a sensationally weird mixture of funk, jazz, disco, and punk. it's a great album. don't listen to the so called "expert rating" because buy contortions is their worst album in my opinion. Don't get me wrong I love that album, but if you really want to listen to a more cohesive sound of what he was attempting to accomplish with his music than this is for you. maybe "buy" is for those hipsters who've heard about james chance through scene crowds, but believe me musically speaking this album shows chance at his prime! happy listening. ...

mellow, cool, and tripped out
Pros: The quality of the orchestration.
Cons: Some tracks drag on toward the end.
Anybody who thinks this band sucks needs a lobotomy. Their orchestration is amazing, and this album proves that the polyphonic spree is evolving and growing with each album. Anyone who likes "A" quality psychedelic music will love this. ...

OMG!
Pros: oneofthebest
Cons: none
This is the quentesential alternitive hippy album of the 60's. it takes off where united states of america left off, and is probably one of the most important and underrated albums of the 60's. a great find. ...
