MERIDIAN COLOR
Pros: USER FRIENDLY
Cons: HARD TO SEE IN BRIGHT SUNLIGHT
I was between the new explorist 500 and the meridian color.
I did not go wrong with the meridian color.The ease of use
and the ability of replacing batteries is great and although
it is a serial port instead of a usb.
The speed of a down load/upload is average.The
inclusion of the sd card is a good idea and although the
topo maps are available for download in the gps they are
a dissapointment for quality and should be downloaded into
a card reader prior to putting on the gps for speed of
download.
The detail is not what I expected for the amount of money I
spent for the Topo maps.Do not waste your money in buying a
sd card from Magellan they have no advantage over the other
brands except being more expensive.I purchased a
256MB Lexar card and it works fine in the GPS. ...
