Prior to my TomTom One 3rd edition GPS purchase I researched as many GPS units as I able. All of my co-workers own the Garmin products, most being the Nuvi 680. I chose the entry level TomTom for many six important reasons. First, this unit's main purpose is a digital map that replaces my trusty ATLAS. Second, the TomTom is highly upgradeable with new features, maps, and comedic voices. I chose not to purchase the higher TomTom 920 because it loses text to speech when the down loaded voices are engaged (my favorite is Navtones "Candy"….what a hottie!). Third, the 3.5" screen that takes less room on my windshield. Fourth, the mounting system is the best of all GPS units (this would count in a collision). Fifth, I was afraid to purchase a unit with too many bells & whistles because I would become distracted trying to operate the features instead of concentrating on the road. I give this fully loaded high quality unit my highest recommendation.
