My husband and I registered for this slow cooker for our wedding last year. We thought KitchenAid was a respectable company and while we couldn't afford a slow cooker at their price, we thought if we could get it as a wedding present we would be thrilled. We tried to use it for the first time today to cook a pork roast for a dinner party. This is a large slow cooker and we were waiting to host company to use it otherwise we'd have tons of leftovers. We set it on Low heat for 8 hours and then left the house for a few hours. When we got home the display screen read ERR 2 which the manual states is a temperature error and it renders the slow cooker permanently inoperable and says to contact KitchenAid. It also says to dispose of the food.

I contacted KitchenAid and even though this was the first time the machine was used, because it was over a year and I didn't have a receipt (duh, it was a gift) that there was nothing they could do. So a slow cooker worth $150 now down the drain as well as a $16.00 pork shoulder.
