Completly underated
the first album on this double is, in my opinion, one of the finest ever recorded by Dean Martin, his two covers of Kris Kristoferson songs are outstanding, with some of the finest arrangments on any of his albums, 'Dino' is a real credit to his Reprise discography.
The next one on the CD, 'You're The Best Thing That Ever Happenned To Me' is, while not matching the previous one, still a supurb album. 'Get on With Your Livin'' is a wonderfully catchy song, as is 'You better move on''Tie a yellow ribbon'....etc.
Another highlight is his more serious song 'Free to Carry On' which he delivers with emotion yet effortless ease. Another must for the Dean Martin fan. ... -
Gentle on My Mind/I Take a Lot of Pride in What I Am

Perfect Dean Martin
while gentle on my mind is a very good album with some very tasteful covers of "honey", "by the time i get to pheonix" the real reason for buting this should for the second part, 'i take a lot of pride in what i am' is supurb! "little green apples" is beautiful, "do you believe this town" is one of my all time favourites. I have no idea why at the time the album sold poorly, because it seems to me that this, (along with his subsequent few album,"my woman, my woman, my wife", "dino" etc.) embodied everything Dean was trying to do, music wise, in the late 60's.
This album is a must for any music fan ...
Another underated classic album from the King of Cool
These two albums while representing Deans later efforts are still some of the most enjoyable material sung by Dean Martin. Some may be put off by his 'devil-may-care'I'm a huge Sinatra fan but he couldn't do these songs as well as Dino did these, and didn't in the case of For The Good Times.
Highlights are: Make The World Go Away, The Tips Of My Fingers, Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head, Turn The World Around, Sweetheart
as well as the outstanding title tracks, 'My Woman, My Woman, My Wife' will send a shiver down you're spine.
