Unrest
Pros: Good dark night popcorn film
Cons: Abut What You Would Expect from B Horror Movie
Part of the "One of the 8 Films to Die for: AFTER DARK HORRORFEST" Collection:
Unrest is your typical evil spirits cause a blood bath movie. Medochre plot (we've heard it before), but still a good watch.
At least this one ends. This type of movies usually hammers you with the cliffhanger to set up for a sequel. Unreal at least has the sense not to do that. ... -

Reincarnation
Pros: Pure Suspenseful Horror
Cons: No English Dub
Part of the "One of the 8 Films to Die for: AFTER DARK HORRORFEST" Collection:
It is directed by Takashi Shimizu (Grudge & Grudge 2), and he carries that same creepy-suspence style into this movie. Like both the Grudge movies, this one will keep you up at night. So don't say I didn't warn you.
I would have ranked this one a little higher if it had an English dub track, which ment that it was all subtitled for this non-japanese-speaking viewer.
So unlike the others of the collection, it's not pure pop-corn horror movies. You do have to put in a little work. But it is well worth it. ... -

Gravedancers
Pros: Abut What You Would Expect from B Horror Movie
Cons: Abut What You Would Expect from B Horror Movie
It's your typical "Ghosts Out For Revenge" type of movie. No real plot twists, but you really don't expect them from this type of movie. Good news is that they didn't go all out gore, or try to care you by having things jump at you. They tried to build suspence, and capitalize on it. Over all, they didn't do a bad job of doing so.
Good for a night of good B-Budget Horror fun. ... -

Curse of the Golden Flower - Great
Pros: Visually Beautiful, Great Combat Action
Cons: Constant Plot Twists
Done by the same director, and I believe cinematographer, of the Jet Li Movie "HERO", it is just as beautiful of a movie. The artistic qualities of the costumes, buidings, and settings, alone warrent the watching of this movie.
The story-line is filled with political plot twists and secret meetings, just when you think you have it figured out, some new twist comes into play.
I loved the moive. I was expecting more martial arts (along the line of Crouching tiger), but it has more to do with the political aspect than the combat - of which, there is still plenty of. ... -

Covenant Rocks
Pros: Heavy Action, Great Soundtrack, Good Story
Cons: Obvious Set Up for Sequel
A story of generational witches (although most of their power seems to be telekinesis), is almost like the OC meets Charmed. The special effects were fantastic. The storyline over all was great.
Only bad thing was that they never really explained what the heck a Darkling was.
And there was the obvious Sequel Set Up in the end. ...

Wicked Little Things
Pros: Suspense
Cons: Cliches
Part of the "One of the 8 Films to Die for: AFTER DARK HORRORFEST" Collection:
I've seen this story all before. Kids work in the mines in the 1800's, and end up getting killed. Their spirits want revenge.
Sorry to say, this one is kind of disappointing. It's very slow moving. And I've seen the story over, and over. ...
