Great camera for a great price!

Cons: White balance indoors a little funky
After shopping for a couple of months I decided that most cameras at the price point I was looking at were all pretty much the same with each having its own niche they fill. I compared the Nikon D40, Pentax K100D and K110D. For the price, the K110D was a steal! The reason I chose the Pentax over the Nikon was because lens selection for the Nikon was very limited for autofocus. Also, I prefer using AA batteries as opposed to a rechargeable integrated battery. That is a personal prefferrence though. The lens selection is amazing for the Pentax, I was able to find lenses that fit my camera at the local pawn shop for a fraction of the cost of a new lens.
I went from a decent point and shoot which took phenominal pictures to the K110D and let me tell you, although I will never get rid of my point and shoot, I certainly don't regret spending almost as much on the dslr as I did on the point and shoot.
Overall, if you are wanting to get into dslr and don't want to spend the 800-1100 for a Nikon D80, this is THE place to start. ...
