Weirdness
Pros: Creative
Cons: No actual songs
This is for fans of the Beatles' strangest drug-induced experiments in sound. It might make for good background noise for a haunted house attraction. It's weird and spooky like a soundtrack for an artsy sci-fi film. If you like only the most commercial music, stay away. If you want something odd, give it a try. ...

Lennon and Ono rock
Pros: Spooky grinding rock
Cons: Will scare your neighbors
This album is definitely for the hardcore Beatle fan, rather than the casual fan. John Lennon and Ringo Starr, half of the Beatles, play on this album. The music is insane hardcore rock, with Yoko moaning and shreiking through every track. There are no actual lyrics so far as I can hear... maybe a word here and there. The music is similar to the most bizarre stuff the Mothers of Invention did, for comparision. The faint of heart are better off sticking with The Beatles 1962-1966 or something like that. ...

Mediocrity
Pros: It's hard rock
Cons: Worst Crue CD ever
The problem with New Tattoo is that it tries too hard to go back to the old days of Girls Girls Girls and Theater of Pain. This album lacks the sincerity of those efforts because they're obviously trying to be that way instead of just doing what comes natural. I really prefer the much heavier Motley Crue CD featuring John Corabi or the 1998 CD called Generation Swine. Those were creative, while this CD is almost laughable in its silliness. However there are a few decent tunes such as Hollywood Ending and Dragstrip Superstar. ...

Classic Rock
Pros: Contains Bonus Tracks
Cons: None
This CD contains Ricky Nelson's fifth and sixth albums plus the A and B sides of singles. "Milk Cow Blues" defines the blues rock sound that inspired hard rock bands of the 1970s. Buy all of Nelson's early CD's, including this one, and enjoy the sounds of the late 50s early 60s with crystal clear quality. ...

The Real Deal
Pros: Soulful rock and roll
Cons: None
The version of "Get Back" here is not the same version as on the single. This is the album version, remixed. This album proves that the Beatles were the greatest band ever. It's one of the most bluesy, soulful albums they ever did. Anybody who appreciates good roots-oriented rock music will enjoy this CD. It is superior to the original Let it Be CD. They've taken out the superfluous studio chatter and a couple throw-away tracks. But for those who are interested in that stuff, there's a bonus CD filled with it. I'll say it because it's worth pointing out: The Beatles on their worst day were better than the Rolling Stones on their best. And yes, Ringo was a better drummer than Charlie Watts. Harrison was a better guitarist than Keith Richards. And no one in their right mind will deny that Lennon, McCartney, Harrison AND EVEN STARR were better singers than the tone-deaf Mick Jagger. The Stones were nothing but hype, the Beatles were the real deal. Only Led Zeppelin ever came close to the Beatles' mystique. ...

How bad is bad? Listen and find out.
Pros: Could be used to torture war prisoners
Cons: Sounds worse than nails on a chalkboard
We live in a free society, and therefore we must have the choice between good music (Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Elvis, Jimi Hendrix, B.B. King), and bad music (Laurie Anderson). But this is really not even music. It's pure trash. If anyone likes this, please feel free to e-mail me and tell me why. And for those who love it, might I also suggest Yoko Ono for your listening pleasure? ...

Tripped-out greatness
Excellent stuff. Check out how Mike Love looks in his guru robe and long beard! Such a far cry from the wholesome athletic All-American boys they were in 1961-66. But the songs are as good as they always were, with some jazzy funky things thrown in for good measure. But it and relive the hippy years! ... -

Decent debut
Would have been better with Three Cool Cats, Besame Mucho, Cry for a Shadow, Hello Little Girl, One After 909 in place of weaker songs like Misery, Chains, Taste of Honey, and Do You Want to Know a Secret. But overall not bad. ...
These are CD's to buy!
1 of 1 Yahoo! Users found this review helpfulPros: Better sound
Cons: Packaging is a bit shoddy
Let me cut to the chase. These mixes are superior. If you want to hear the Beatles the way they sounded in America in 1964, buy these now. You're getting the first four Capitol LP's on CD, and they all rock.
By comparison, the standard British CD's have the original mixes as the Beatles intended. But I have to be honest, the American mixes which added echo and density, just sound a whole lot better to my ears. Not only that, but because these were mastered to CD in 2004 instead of 1987, they are frankly louder.
Anyone who complains about the lack of integrity on these albums doesn't understand rock and roll. ...
