Easily one of the best TV dramas ever
Pros: The episodes themselves
Cons: Skimpy extras
Reams of glowing reviews have been written about this show, so i won't go into much detail. The writing makes everyday life feel as tough and textured as it really is. Beautiful cast (both literally and metaphorically). Sela Ward knocks it out of the park. ...

Finally!!
1 of 1 Yahoo! Users found this review helpful At long last, ALIAS comes to DVD. And it's in it's original widescreen format (1.78:1). I forgot just how good the first season was I saw this. The cast is incredible and Jennifer Garner stands toe-to-toe with a crew of seasoned vets. The features are pretty good, but the picture and sound quality really take the cake. Can't wait for Season 2 this Chistmas! ... -

One of the best shows ever, died too soo
"Once and Again" was arguably the best family drama of the past decade, boasting a thoroughly accomplished cast - both adults and kids, riveting storytelling, and breathtaking honesty. It's tragic this show didn't catch on. Escapism has its place but holding up a mirror to the magnitude of human conlict (internal and external) in daily life is critically important. This show suceeded marvelously and only swayed a little toward the very end of the third season when trying to grab a audience to maintain its survival. This is "must own" TV if ever their was any. ... -

Pixilated indeed
"Mr. Deeds," Capra's first patently idealistic fantasy (and the first of his Everyman-as-Superman trilogy that continues with "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" and "Meet John Doe") is also most the one closely akin to his conventional screwball comedies. All the "Capra Corn" staples are here but with a dash of whimsy and sarcasm. It will certainly win your heart.
Unfortunately, it has been remade as a juvenile idiot comedy with Adam Sandler. The trailers alone are repugnant. I doubt I'll ever watch it. ... -

Entertaining and warm-hearted
This is not high art but it is funny, sad, and hopeful. Natalie Portman is not only beautiful but also charming and sympathetic. Ashley Judd is flawless (of course). Stockard Channing is a godsend. ...

Show rocks, DVD doesn't
Pros: House!
Cons: Letterboxing and grainy transfer
First season set is in non-anamorphic letterboxing (i.e., fake widescreen), not real widescreen. If you have a regular old TV, you won't notice. Problem corrected on second season. Other than that, it's great. The show is fantastic and funny. ...
