Cons: Waiting for the next book
I remember when I first heard of these books and wondered too what all of the fuss was about. I picked up the first one to read just out of curiousity, not really expecting that much. It was a shock to find that it was one of the best and most addicting books that I had ever read, and I finished it in about three hours and then drove to Wal-Mart in the middle of the night to buy the other two that were out at the time. I have now read all five books a half a dozen times, and cannot wait for this one to hit the shelves.
It is reminiscent of "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" books that I enjoyed as a young boy, and the first several books in the "Xanth" series by Piers Anthony that I loved as a teenager. It is the kind of magical storyline that draws you in and gives you an emotional connection with its real, complex, and beilievable characters and plots. It is a treasure of entertainment for people of all ages, and the only disappointment is that one day the series will end. ...
