SLi1 V SLi3

Cons: Smaller screen resolution limits optimized graphics technology
I got this computer at large electronics store which clames to have the best buys. I had an extended service plan on a Sony Vaio and they were unable to replace a screen with pixils missing without breaking something else so they just opted their no-lemon policy and sent me back to the computers section. I was assured this latop was the best theyhad and told that it was "Awesome". So I intstalled my usual games (a dated collection) to scope what the graphics could do. I play Call of Duty online and installed it first. I noticed immediately that i couldn't get a resolutio of greater than 1065 x ... to load. The next widescreen option up is the 1600 x ... option. The SLi1 has a max resolution of only 1440x900 which is considerably lower than the 1900x.... I was used to on my 3 year old sony Vaio.
So a max of 1065x... meant that even if i maxed out the other graphics options (which even for an old game taxed the new computer) they couldn't make relatively low resolution look "awesome".. or at least noticeably more awesome than what I was used to.
If you're dropping 2 grand for this laptop you might as well come up with the other 400 bucks and get the version ith the larger hardrives and screen with higher resolution. That way you can better appreciate the SLi tech. Also the more expensive SLi3 has an actual HDTV tuner in it. ...
