I am not sure people understand...
...how god these guys are. The unrightful and imcomparable comparisons to american rock icons of the past is a weight too many times beared by the newest and most talent modern day artisits. The Counting Crows, with "Hard Candy", have released their most thoughtful and musically specific album since "August...". It still possess the same insights Adam calls and claims in each of his other lyrical escapades. He is a hopeful searcher for truth in all aspects of life and its truthful topics. No political views or industry bashing, just pure simple "who the hell am I, what am I doing here, where is the place that I belong, and what THE HELL is love..." -those are the most imoprtant things, right? Innovative musically and lyrically stunning, the Counting Crizzzzows deliver a classic example of simple american rock n' roll and how things aren't always better just because they were made thrity years ago. This, like "August and Everything After", is an album that would be classic in any era. Its is just great, moving music.
Best TRACKAS!!! - my favorties are "Holiday in Spain", "Goodnight LA", "Goodtime" and the perfect mood track "Carriage". ... -

Top 5 of the past ten years.
David Gray has put together something timeless. From the very first 10 seconds where the skip beat flows into the simple, yet earth moving piano chord of "Please Forgive Me", the listener cannot turn back. Gray transports the ear to a place that pulls from the best of John Lennon and Elton John and creates what will be known as a masterpiece. Songs like "Nightblindness" struggles with the murkiness left in the wake of self-realization. The track "Sail Away" takes a breakup and throws a rusty romance of a man who knows himself without a companion in his life. Overall an album that will even make the biggest, badass cry on a cool Autumn evenig as he remembers friends, loves and those who are gone. Perhaps the song "This Year's Love" will be repected for what it is. A man sitting down and playing the piano (the most beautifully exposing instrument ever)and writing the greatest one of those damn goood love songs...ever. Its the gem of the album. The diamond amongst the pearls.
This is one of the best albums in the past ten years. ... -

Damn good...
..."Crash Into Me" like it or not, is one of the most perfectly constructed ballads, ever. The gems of the album (Lie in Our Graves, #41) prove that this band takes music making to a unique level. They are all craftsman of their talents...when they jam together it rivals the misty shadows and echos the pasts of The Alman's and the Dead. I hope they continue on this path. If they do, they will trample their way into music history as innovators and musical genius'. ... -

Very good...
...a compilation that would usually be an excuse for another easy seeling cover album comes off as anything but. It does each song justice by staying honest to the original. By the way...Eddie Vedder...a mule in heat? Sorry to say he steals the album. He doesn't even have to try. ...
