Easy read with lots of twists!
Pros: Wonderful characters that you can relate to.
Cons: The ending was a bit abrupt and left you wanting more.
You are pulled into the book from the very beggining by Ms. Hill's characters and story line.
THE PLOT:
Detective Tori Hunter works in homicide and has been assigned a new partner. In fact, Detective Samantha Kennedy would be her 7th partner in a span of 7 years. Between drug deals going bad, a serial killer and Detective Kennedy's over bearing boyfriend, the two find themselves attracted to each other and not knowing what to do.
This book will have you laughing, crying and sometimes even a little mad. ...

A Wonderful Screen Adaption of a Superb Novel....
Pros: The mini-series followed the book.
Cons: Characters are made to be stereotypical and sometimes you just want to scream at Nan!
I loved Sarah Water's novel, "Tipping the Velvet" which made it a must to see the screen adaption. Director Geoffrey Sax and screenwriter Andrew Davies made it worth wild by capturing Sarah Water's characters beautifully.
The setting is 1890's England and the roller coaster ride begins when Nan finds she has feelings for a beautiful male impersonator...Miss Kitty Butler. All of sudden, her once normal life gets turned upside down. The movie, just like the book, is not for the weak at heart as we follow Nan through a lot of turbulation in her life. But if you can get past the dark side of things, you will really enjoy watching this mini series.
Here's a big thumbs up to the BBC for an extremely well casted mini-series. ...
