/ www.qckmr2.com/ Pict0005.jpg at first i was stuck on what digital camera to get in the $800-2000 range. i was leaning tords the digital rebel canon but with the lense options i wanted it would have been way over my budget. then after going to the camera store and learning that for a lot less money i can get the DimageA1 with almost all the extras. In extras, extra lense ( that makes it zoom to a "400mm equal" that im not sure is accurate), extra battery pack that holds two 'lith" batteries ( that is a great add on BTW ), bag, lens cover and a few little things. had i got the rebel i would have spent over $2000. for the camera and lense options i wanted. the A1 with everything cost me $1200.
After getting it home and reading the manual ( a must ) i figured out that this camera is NOT a point and shoot, and is NOT for an amature. if you want a point and shoot, DO NOT GET THIS CAMERA. Most of the features and options are easy to use and easy to figure out. One thing i did not like about the A1 is that the "auto" setting is not very good. Ive done a few different lighting setings and most of the pics came out so-so. Also in the auto setting you can change the settings, but once you select another feature like action or portrate shot, then go back to auto, all your auto setings are back to default.
But after using the A1 for a few weeks, i learned that the other features work so much better, i dont use the auto setting anymore. The A1 has 5 memory settings that you can set up for different situations. i set mine up for 1-action 2-close ups dark 3-close ups light 4-outside scenic light 5-outside action high speed. its features like this that make this a great camera.
The A1 is built well and feels good in my hands. I have big hands ( im 6'1 210 )and small plastic cameras are not good for me. This camera is not light, but i think its just the right weight. the built in lense is great and the extra attachment can really get you close. The red eye works good and the shutter speed is fantastic. I got the extra battery pack and with the two lith batteries i was able to take a lot of pics and mess with the settings for a long time before the low bat came on. i was impressed.
So far the pictures ive got with the A1 have come out great, and with my HP photo printer ive got pro quality pictures. Even with the image size on the second to lowest setting. My over all rating on this camera is 8 out of 10. For the price and features it offers you cant beat it.

Cons: not many if any
i got this item a few months ago and what a deal. i looked around for other camera backpacks, and was shocked to find some of them costing 100s of dollars. come on its a back pack with some velcro straps. so when i found the canon i was very pleased. i was able to fit my 20D with Bg-e2 grip still attached, 4 lens and lots of other parts in this pack with no problems. it looks nice and the build quality is very good. lots of straps for other stuff, its soft and padded in the right places. for the money is one of the best out there. ...
