It's Ok.
1 of 1 Yahoo! Users found this review helpfulPros: This is a differen't type of workout than I'm used to.. but different was fun, kind of.
Cons: The quality is poor all around, both visually and soundwise. The Camera moves around when the instructor tells it to (late) and you miss out the first time you watch the DVD. You can't see what you're skipping to exactly.
You are working out to drums in this workout. In the beginning you learn about Brazillian dance and how its roots are in African dance.
Eventually, the routine starts with a long warm up.
My heart rate does rise at some point in this DVD.. but my tension span does not. I never finish it. But for some reason, I haven't parted with this DVD. ... -

Fun :-)
Pros: This is a FUN workout :-)
Cons: You can't skip the instuction all together, and the dance at the end is not the choreographed dance you just learned.
Unlike many dance videos I've done, this one actually got my heart rate up. I had fun doing it although I didn't really care for the music. I got my mom to jump in and dance with me. We goofed around a bit and had fun with it ;-) ...

Nice way to Teach... But What was being taught?
2 of 2 Yahoo! Users found this review helpfulPros: The DVD features aided in this out of the classroom lesson. Carmen was pleasant and kept count through all of the learning the routine segments. If you learn quickly, you can skip ahead and just practice the routine.
Cons: The dances were cheasy. The music was awful.
I've done dance all my life. I'm in shape.
This was not a workout at all for me. It was cheesy. I memorized the routine after the first time through and then I was done with the program. It wasn't worth the price for me-- I resold it. ... -

LOVE THE FIRM
7 of 7 Yahoo! Users found this review helpfulPros: IT WORKS! I felt GREAT after doing this for one month. I hasn't been evercising regularly in a long time-- and this got me right back where I needed to be. It was a well rounded workout. I loved it!
Cons: Moving the box around quickly was not always possible. -- and this is a pretty expensive program.
Overall Review:
I really enjoyed this series. In the beginning, I felt a burn so strong in my legs it was hard for me to keep up with the step. However, by the end of the month, I was able to complete each workout without stopping. This set contained 6 DVDs entitled: Supercharged Sculpting, Aerobic Body Shaping, Ultimate Calorie Blaster, Jiggle Free Abs -- and the two optional add ons, Jiggle Free Arms and Jiggle Free Buns. The music did not bother me in any of these sets. I actually found it appropriate for each exercise.
The TransFIRMer itself was a bit difficult to move around in a few seconds between workouts. It also takes up a fair amount of space. I exercise in a small space, so I had to make sure it was positioned against the walls of the room. Sometimes, you are required to step over the transfirmer. I have to move it back again, and then forward again for lunges.
This workout did a great job working our both sides of the body. The moves did take a bit of time for me to become familiar with. A few steps mixxed me up for the first week or so. However, as with all workout videos, as you become familiar with the instructor, it's easier to follow their cues.
There are multiple people in the exercise performing the exercise in different ways. There is the beginner person in the back right corner, and then there are also people performing the exercises at a difficult level. I liked this approach because I was able to choose the method that felt best with my body.
The recommended dumbell amounts were 3, 5, and 8 lb weights. I used 2, 3 and 5. By the end of this workout (one month) I was able to use 8lb weights. The instructors direct you as to where your goal should be (light, medium or heavy weights). I feel like I learned a lot about weight use and my body from this series.
I am top heavy. Thus, I hate jumping around because it hurts. This workout provided me with cardio without jumping around like crazy.
The instructors generally tell you where you should feel the moves. They do not always point-- so if you don't already know the muscle group names, you might have to look these up or define the terms based on what you feel (The latter not recommended for beginners).
You cannot skip chapters in any of these dvds. That didn't really bother me.
I did not find this series to be too repetitive. I believe there was just enough reptition to keep you moving (without being lost) in all of the workouts, however there was always something new. I was able to mix and match the Jiggle Free DVDs to meet my own personal needs. I really enjoyed this workout.
Again-- I loved this workout.
The Breakdown:
Supercharged Sculpting:
Instructor: Pam Meriwether
Length: 30 minutes
Equiptment: The Transfirmer and dumbells
This set was challenging, and enjoyable. Again, the step was used, giving my thighs an intense workout. There were many lunges and squats. This set also gave my body an efficient upper body workout with hand weights. The instructor, Pam Meriwether gave excellent cuing and remained energized and motivating through out the entire workout. I have tried many workouts where the instructors bored me to death. I was pleased with this workout.
I do believe this was one of my favorites from this series, along with Jiggle Free Buns.
The Bonus Workout: 8 Minute Stretch Workout
Instructor: Pam Meriwether
Length: 8 minutes
Equiptment: None
The music was relaxing, as were the exercises. This workout will make you sore the first few times if you work hard. This was a nice workout to come back to every now and then.
Aerobic Body Shaping:
Instructor: Allie DelRio
Length: 55 minutes
Equiptment: The Transfirmer and dumbbells
Allie used a different stance for weight lifting. I liked seeing a different method. This workout again, really utilized the step-- thus working out my legs a TON.
The Bonus Workout: 8 minute Lower Body Workout
Instructor: Allie DelRio
Length: 8 Min ...

No Workout Here
Pros: Nice teaching style and teaching features on DVD -- Counting, teaching in segments -- you can skip the beginning once you learn more, you can change the music
Cons: I didn't like the music. The workouts were cheesy. I didn't get tired.
Not much of a workout. If you are looking to learn how to dacne and keep a rhythm... this might be good for you. If you already know how to do this-- you might want to put your money elsewhere. ...
