I have been using a Canon EOS 20D for almost 3 years now and was just about to upgrade to the 40D this past summer when I heard that the 50D was coming out in October. I patiently waited and have to say that it was worth it! This camera is a major upgrade over the 20D. Controls are roughly the same as the 20, 30 and 40D so it was real easy to switch over. Focus is much faster and the image quality is superb using my Canon 100-400 f4.5-5.6. The light readings are much more accurate in the 50, I would have to drop my 20D about 2/3 a stop to compensate for overexposure. Not so with this camera. I love the Auto ISO option and the ability to shoot in RAW in any setting. ...
