Getting old
Pros: Good season finale
Cons: not much direction
For many X-Files fans conspiracy and suspense is what kept them tuning in for many years. With the conspiracy unravelled in the previous season and the stories not as plot driven, it left for a rather dull season.
The season opens with a lackluster two-part episode and contiues with a mix of offbeat and stand-alone episodes. The issue of Mulder's sister's whereabouts is wrapped up neatly but your left with the "That's it?" taste in your mouth when it's over. Season seven does have its good episodes. "Brand X" and the season finale, "Requiem" are standouts including a season ending cliff-hanger which fans come to expect. But the dull episodes leave a lot to be desired from a franchise that has delived in the past. ...

Overacting, bad writing and no David Duchovony made for a season that disgraced the franchise. Even the series finale, which featured the return of Fox Mulder as well as the cancer man(who was killed more times than Freddy Krueger) couldn't help this sloppy attempt at a wrap up. If you need to own it or watch it for closure, which is what I did, go ahead. But consider yourself warned! ...
