Enjoyable
Pros: I like the lyrics

They aren't as polished as I would like a band. But I love that I was the first one the really start playing them. The sound is fresh enough with a definite catchy sound. I like them and think this album is worth owning. The future is bright for a band that will definitely polish even more as the albums come out. ...

Cons: I hear a strong U2 influence
The lyrics are good. The tempo change from song to song keeps you interested the whole cd. The vocals are unconventional and therefore catchy. I enjoy the cd a lot. There are a couple of songs that I hear a U2 sound in....those songs are good....and as long as you like U2 there isn't a problem at all. ...

You can't go wrong. The album has plenty of top 40 appeal. Sheryl Crow writes some of the most catchy tunes around. If one of her songs is on the radio you not only recognize her distinctive vocals but you also know the hook. The great quality of Crow's songs is their sneak appeal. For being so bubble gum and top 40 they have great content. The lyrics behind the songs are always very solid. If read they always tell a pretty neat story. She is one of the few female artists that I am a fan of. ...

Very Solid
From the first track to the last, the album is solid all around. It has a great mix of different sounds and is very deep lyrcally. The subject matter is very refreshing....not as monumental as Pearl Jam's evenflow....but it is up there....if you like rock and are looking for an album that gives you songs that let you rage against a disfuntional family, as well as the abuse of women and jealousy....then this is for sure the cd for you.... ... -

He does a very good job at rapping about things from his prospective and not the prospective of selling records....it doesn't try to win fans....he tries to make records....the Mathers lp was much better....I would call it close to monumental....but Em's originality and insighting lyrics are tough to match....I would easily rank him in the top of the lyricists with NAS....the Dre beats vibrate the concrete and surprise you with their originality....it is a can't lose combination....White America, Without Me, and Soldier are all solid.... ... -

Middle of the road
This album really struck me as middle of the road. It is a real shame. If you are looking to become a Life House fan the first album, "No Name Face" is much better. I agree with wayne....the lyrics if read from the cd jacket are very solid....most have great poetic appeal....the shame comes in when they are sung with the music....the singing ability and studio producing of this album are subpar....in the battle of the lyrics or the baseline the baseline won....if you want to even get a remote chance of hearing the words you have to really put the bass in the negative decibels....and the singing itself is way to mumbled....Spin and Out of breath are solid tracks....as a whole there just wasn't anything spectacular about the album.... ... -

Spectacular
Maybe I am just bias because Hootie is my favorite group. But, I think album is well done. It has a great grouping of songs that if you have heard Hootie live you will love hearing them again. And if you have never heard the songs then you will love the flavor that Hootie brings to them. fantastic ...

Wow
Pros: Lyrics and Music

the album is solid from track 1 to the end. I was very impressed at the colaboration of such great talent. The band is an eclectic grouping of talent. One from Sheryl Crowe's band, one from Eminem and Dr. Dre camp....etc. John Mayer even jumps in. The song writing is really good. The sounds are very unique and distinct from track to track.
