Masterpiece!
A few of the 'B' sides on this album could have easily been No.1 Uk singles. Acquiesce is the most notable - one of my personal favourites.
Unlike some questionable groups, Noel Gallagher always strived to provide fans with decent 'B' sides on singles. This is a disappearing trend in modern day music sadly.
'Listen Up' sounds a bit like the prototype for 'Live Forever' and is excellent. 'Half the world away' is brillant as is 'The Masterplan' (even my cousin likes that one and he hates Oasis!)
For a collection of B sides you can't go wrong with this album.
Wow, another 5 star rating from lizardo_jr - can you guess they are my favourite band?! ... -

Definitely a 5 star
This album was slated by the critics - why? Because as the British media does, once they've built someone up they can't wait to knock 'em down.
For a supposed weak album, it sure as hell produced 3 UK no.1 singles - more than any other Oasis albums.
I have always said that this album musically is brilliant but it's the lack of 'comercial/mainstream' friendly songs that make it an easy target for unimaginative critics.
If you've heard this album and don't like it - give it a few listens and it'll grow on you.

How can u give this album a 'one-star'?!
A lot of the reviewers on yahoo are extremely negative when it comes to writing reviews and this album was never a one-star even if you don't like them!
It was possibly the most commercial friendly album of the 1990's - songs such as 'Don't look back...' and 'Wonderwall' still receive much airplay in Britain - even on trendy dance stations - 7 years on, now that's an achievement!!!!
Not as good as Definitely Maybe but it certainly was a bold follow up! It is Oasis' biggest selling album to date.
Every track is a gem, I love Some Might Say and Cast No Shadow among others. Buy this album and be blown away!

Best debut ever
Live Forever and Supersonic are and always will be my favourite songs. Every time i hear them hey put a smile on my face. Even if Oasis do use certain musical influences in their sound (Beatles, T-Rex, Pistol, Roses) there arrangements are always original. This album did break the mould. It was the first serious effort by a British band since the Stone Roses in the 80's.
It's been 8 years since this masterpiece was released and it still sounds as fresh as ever.
I went to see their gig in finsbury park, London last week - unforgettable. As well as being a brilliant studio band they kick a*se live! Go and see them while you've got the chance!!!! ... -

It grows with each listen
Tis album contains a lot of 'fillers' as did Californication. But like Cali this album also contains gems; such as - 'By The Way', 'Dosed', 'Cabron' and 'Tear'. These are truely some of the best songs i've ever heard.
What's all this negative crap that most of the reviewers are coming out with? it's no BSSM but they are still rockin' and that's more than can be said for Mr.Durst and company - old fellas selling music to misguided kids - pathetic.

I love this album - classic Oasis
0 of 1 Yahoo! Users found this review helpful It's nice to see them back to doing what they do best after the psychedelic SOTSOG album - pure rock'n'roll suits them better.
I was suprised that this album was so good. I can't stop listening to it. It's nice to see some American appreciation for our top band for once! I'm off to the Finsbury Park gig in London on Saturday - can't wait! ...
Under-rated album - couldn't give a 5 th
1 of 1 Yahoo! Users found this review helpful If another band brought out an album like this they would be praised, because it's Oasis the standards are higher. Couple this with the fact that it's 'trendy' to dislike anything Gallagher these days, then you've got yourself a critically poor album.Again, morons listen to critics without giving an album a chance.
This album contains such good songs as 'f*ckin in the bushes', 'go let it out' and 'sunday morning call'.
Like Be Here Now, this album requires a few listens to gain full appreciation.
However after a near 3 year wait for new material it was a bit of a let down - with far too many experimental, psychedelic and electronic sounds.
Noel failed to realise that Oasis is a ROCK band and the fans so desperately wanted a ROCK album - so in that respect it WAS a let-down.
I like to look at the positives in life and there are certainly a few on this album.
In conclusion, this is Oasis at they're worst but guess what? It's still good. ...
