Worthless Keyboard and warranty
Pros: Feature list and price
Cons: poor performance, broke soon, worthless warranty
My dell keyboard was wearing out after several years where certain letters would not register from time to time. I needed a quick replacement and bought the Micro Innovations at a local Wal Mart. The price was OK and it had the features I wanted, so I thought things were well. Upon trying to install the software in my XP-MCE system I got an error that my operating system was out of date (!?!). Note that it supposedly supports Win98. I contacted tech support and was supplied a new version that loaded OK. Now I notice that the built-in Keyboard debouce software routinely dropps the second letter of double letter words unless I type REAL slow. No response from tech support this time, and no adjustments available from the software. A few weeks later I noticed the keyboard locking up several random times. I was as if it was unplugged...no lights and no response to typing until I rebooted. Finally, it lost whole blocks of letters, so I pulled it and reinstalled the old Dell keyboard. Now I thought I better take advantage of the lifetime warranty! I went online to get the RMA and found I had to pay both shipping and a processing fee that basically together covered the original purchase price! Avoid this one, and the companyt as well...there are lots of better suppliers out there ...
