A great Christmas Film
Pros: The dances are better than Dancing With the Stars!
Cons: Corny at times.
I LOVE this movie more than anything! I have to say, I love a good old fashioned musical, but this is a spectacular musical. It is set around a Vaudville team formed during the war. But it becomes a wonderful love story and a story about the love of people in general. And there is a General in this movie that makes me cry each time I see the ending! If you have never watched this movie, please watch it today! ...

The Best Thanksgiving Movie Ever
Pros: Comedic talents unsurpassed
Cons: NONE!!!!
I tried to do this for my first review and couldn't find it at the time, to be able to review. Today, as Thanksgiving approaches, I see it here! What a blast to find it!!
This movie has the best comedic team I have ever seen, John Candy and Steve Martin together. It is a terrible shame that John Candy isn't around, to further share that magic that he so well displayed with Steve Martin. However, he left us with a treasure in this movie!
The story revolves around getting home for Thanksgiving and the two unlikely traveling mates that use Planes, Trains, & Automobiles to make it there. It is so hilarious, I never get tired of laughing about it. The bathroom scene, the bed scene, and the driving scene are my favorites, but the movie is packed full of so many moments, it's hard to choose. And the ending, so bittersweet! If you haven't watched it, buy or rent a copy today!!! ... -

Miracle on 34th Street
Pros: Great 'feel good' movie!
Cons: None that I can see.
This is the classic Christmas movie that I never tire of rewatching again and again. Natalie Wood, a mere child was incredible. And Maureen O'Hara and Edmond Gwenn told a wonderful story that warms even the Grinches heart with holiday cheer! Really, the entire cast was incredible. And the dream of seeing a Macy's parade grew from my first time seeing this movie, MANY years ago. If you haven't watched this lately, watch it this Christmas. Watch it with a child and bring the magic to them! ...

Forrest Gump
1 of 1 Yahoo! Users found this review helpfulPros: Any person can 'get it.' You don't have to be a grown up.
Cons: None!!!
I went to a Bubba Gump restaurant last night on Navy Pier in Chicago. Earlier in the summer, I went to a Bubba Gump in New York. While there, I was able to remember just what is so great about Forrest Gump. Forrest was not a "smart man" or was he? The wisdom portrayed throughout this movie proves to all that 'book smarts' has nothing to do with people smarts. Forrest loved his friends fiercely and had compassion for people in general. But his honesty was the most endearing quality that was portrayed in this film. I love Tom Hanks in general, however, I don't think I have seen a movie with a better message than Forrest Gump! ...

Elf
Pros: Funny
Cons: No Cons
I thought this was a wonderful movie and as the Christmas season approaches, I thought it should be on my list. I haven't been the biggest Will Ferrell fan in the world and James Caan is okay, but together in this movie, it is hilarious!!! I love Santa movies in general and Christmas movies in general, but I thought this one stood out. However, I wish I could of done a review of Planes, Trains, & Automobiles first, before this review. I think that is one of the all time classics and a Thanksgiving movie to boot (before the Christmas season), but it wasn't listed for review, so I'm taking what I can get. But seriously, watch Elf, but only after seeing Planes, Trains, & Automobiles!!! ...

A beautiful story!
Pros: Delightful tale!
Cons: Steve Martin isn't Spencer Tracy!
I really enjoyed this movie, although I didn't plan on liking it as much as I did! I LOVED Spencer Tracy's version with Liz Taylor, just a raving beauty and such a tale. But in the end, Steve Martin did justice to this re-make. It's worth a view! ...
