The End?
Fresh from the alluring magnum opus that was "Aegis", I of course greatly anticipated the release of this album. Unfortunatley, all my enthusiasm was for naught. It seems TOT wanted to abandon the style that served them well and descended into the awful techno-pop mainstream. Sure there is a touch of their old goth-metal but only a brief caress if anything and only that it will stay. I really wonder why most of the band members (Except Rymond and Liv) haven't quit because this new sound really doesn't need them too much. I hope TOT recovers and returns to their old stuff but acording to their website, that doesn't seem to be happenning anytime soon. 1 star for the effort, another for ear-worthy periods, and the last for good ol' times sake. I would give another for Liv but that would be doing too much. Dream of the past! ...
