Hoyle Games - Same old stuff

Cons: 2005 (and likely 2006..7..8) versions still like 2000 versions
I bought some of the Hoyle titles back in 2000-2001 and found them to be plain and predictable -- lacking any decent AI. I was at a friends house recently and noticed that he had Hoyle Board Games 2005. I couldn't believe what I saw when I gave it a try-- it was basically identical to the 2001 version with a minor face lift to the graphics, and I mean MINOR. The game play has not changed one bit. Hell, it even had the same old bugs like how clicking fast when bearing off in backgammon will sometimes allow the player to remove an extra marker. Others should voice their disapproval at the producer of Hoyle software titles by not purchasing them until a major revamp has been completed. ...
