Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals

Cons: no force feedback
I have two different sets of flight simulator rudder pedals, and I have to say that the Saitek pedals are better than the CH rudder pedals I have. I can adjust the Saitek pedals to feel very realistic even without force feedback, and, in fact, the only drawback of the Saitek pedals, in my opinion, is that there is no force feedback. I have even used flight simulator software and hardware that is approved by the FAA for logging training hours, and the Saitek pedals are better than the FAA approved pedals. I've had my private pilot's license since 1977, my commercial license since 1980, and I'm both instrument and multi-engine rated (for fixed-wing aircraft - I'm also licensed to fly single-rotor choppers), and the Saitek pedals feel as close to flying *in* *the* *air* as anything I've ever used that wasn't actually in a real cockpit. I just wish they had force feedback - I'd be willing to pay a lot for force feedback rudder pedals. If you're trying to decide between the CH pedals and the Saitek pedals, get the Saitek pedals - both are in the same price range, but the Saitek pedals are a great deal more true-to-life than the CH pedals. (If anyone is wondering why I don't just fly for real, well, I do, every chance I get; however, I never get to fly as much as I like, and I can get in a short "flight" with the simulator in between classes - I'm a university professor for a living.) The only reason I don't give five stars to the Saitek pedals is that they aren't force feedback - if they were, they'd get five stars. In every other way, I find them superior to all the other rudder pedals I've ever tried. ...
