Cons: COST
I've waited, waited and waited. I wasn't going to spend $1000 to $1500 on a TV to be unsatisfied. So I went all out and got the 46in XBR2. No disappointment.
And right now is the time to get it. It's listed about $3k to $4k, but if you can get to a store that offers a 110% price match, jump on it. Got mine for $2500 over the Thanksgiving weekend.
The picture is unmatched. Only the 40in XBR2 compares overall. I went to best buy/magnolia theater to watch just about every tv in there on HD and SD channels. Couldn't walk away without this one. Wanted something a little bigger but didn't want a DLP (short life of projector). The one and only flaw, which isn't major, is that the dark blues aren't as natural. But I'm still adjusting my color settings, which brings me to a shining feature.
Customization-
You can adjust this TV's picture to your liking no matter what setup you have in your home. It's amazing.
The best thing, and one thing that mattered a lot to me as I shopped Magnolia was the fact that this TV really clears up Standard Def feeds. A lot of those other sets only offered fuzzy, ghostly images of the same channels. This TV reduces that noise for the people that have limited HD availability.
The best analogy I can give is like buying a car. Why buy a stripped down version if you can get one fully loaded?
