Built in 1961, this Underwood 21 is one of the last typewriters that the merged Olivetti-Underwood company produced under the Underwood name. The Underwood 21 is identical internally to the Olivetti Studio 44. This typewriter is portable but a bit on the larger size. The type feeling on typing this is a bit more solid than what you would find with smaller portable typewriters. This blueish-grey typewriter comes with a case & is ready to travel with & help you write your next correspondence. This particular typewriter comes with script typeface that looks like typing in cursive. Mechanically, this typewriter is in great shape. The keys strike as they should & don't stick. Functions like tabulator, color ribbon selector, backspace & margin bell are working as they should. A new ribbon was just wound on the spools so it is ready to type for quite a while. Cosmetically, this typewriter is in good shape. The paint on the typewriter does have a few scratches on some edges, but nothing that stands out too badly. The typewriter could use more cleaning if it suited your tastes, but isn't bad as it is. The carrying case on this typewriter is solid & will work well for traveling & storing your typewriter.
