Piattino di Volo is Italian for flying saucer and this Stührling Original timepiece looks like something from another galaxy! This elegant Stührling Original gentlemans automatic and quartz dual time zone timepiece sports a classic rich guilloche dial featuring a large tornado-like swirl pattern on the inner dial (suggesting a flying motion). The real attraction here however is the second time zone complication at the eight oclock position. Looking like a satellite orbiting its master, the sub-dial is actually controlled by its own separate quartz movement with its own crown while the master movement is a 23-jewel mechanical automatic. The combination of a mechanical automatic movement and a quartz movement in one timepiece is something akin to an alien spaceship!
