    Pros: Great music

    Cons: nothing

I purchased Kidz Bop 2001, the music was upbeat, fun, and entertaining for my kid who is 2 and loves it! Barney and disney music doesn't last forever, variety is good as well.

  • All Music Guide

A very literal singalong album, Kidz Bop collects 18 remakes of contemporary hits that also feature a chorus of kids singing along with the hooks. Generally, punkpop songs like the covers of blink182's "All the Small Things," Sugar Ray's "Fly," and Smash Mouth's invincible "All Star" fare the best as singalong material for kids, as do nonsensical hits like LFO's "Summer Girls" and Barenaked Ladies' "One Week." For the most part, Kidz Bop provides parents with a safe collection of pop music for their kids.

Known for its "kidfriendly" versions of hit singles that are rerecorded by session musicians and singers and the Kidz Bop Kids, a chorus of child singers, the compilations became popular with families who wanted cleanedup versions of contemporary songs: 2006's Kidz ... Read more
